... I think if you want to be recognized as "The Champ" in a certain weight division, you should fight in that weight division. The #1 contender in that division shouldn't have to cut extra weight when he gets a shot at the title. Cotto is the MW Champ, the MW limit is 160 Lbs. It's a little different with Alvarez. With Alvarez it's a case of both fighters being OK with the other man coming in a pound or two over the limit... still, IMO he should come in at 154 Lbs. if it's a title fight. If Cotto and Alvarez want to fight at 157, fine, but if the winner wants to stay at MW and defend the title... they should make the limit 160.
