As per Magic Mike Coppinger. Jack Catterall has stepped aside to allow Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez to fight for the undisputed 140 title in early 2021.

Early predictions, thoughts on styles mashing?

Taylor beats him up and stops him. I like Ramirez, he's proper entertaining and seems like a nice fella (although I've only seen two interviews) but Taylor is a level above him. Should be a decent style clash, as both are skilled, aggressive and not particularly hard to hit.

    Taylor late TKO IMO.

Real intergalactical question is where does the winner rank P4P? Undisputed, both nice résumés. I'd say Ramirez goes up to about 6/7, and Taylor would end up above Crawford.

I only see a stoppage if it's a body shot, both are tough with real good chins. Taylor is far more versatile and should have too much for Jose, if Taylor plays it smart I think he'll put a beating on Jose late in the fight. Really looking forward to it though, I can't see it being boring.

I think it'll be an attrition thing. Ramirez is taking too many flush shots and after a big flurry or shot, the ref stops it.

Interesting question. I'd need to think about this a little. I'd probably put the winner between 5-7 but I'm not big on P4P rankings, so much interpretation involved. Too much thinking for me

I suppose I could see that, Ramirez is easier to hit and Taylor is accurate and body work could slow Jose down.

I'd need to watch more film, I'm curious as to whether Jose has a legitimate shot other than out hustling Taylor?

Hasnt Crawford already done what Taylor has done though?

Smart move by Jack Catterall because he was going to fight for the vacant WBO either way as the winner is going to 147 the very next fight.. More than likely will use the WBO rule to become Bud Crawford’s immediate mandatory.

Anyways 9-3, 10-2 type of decision in favor of Josh Taylor who will display the huge difference in levels between the two. I’m having the same feeling I had before Froch vs Bute where some figured it would be a 50/50 fight but my gut feeling said Froch was gonna destroy him..

If Taylor beats Ramirez he'll have Crawford's best win, and two that are better. As well as being undisputed.

Taylor will walk through him and swat him aside.

Lol behave. Crawford is a 3 weight world champion with multiple better wins than Taylor has. Completely dominated Postol where Taylor struggled. JT is very good and cracks the top ten with a win over Ramirez but he’ll never be on Crawfords level.

Please elaborate then. Who are these multiple wins he has that are better than Prograis. Styles. Crawford is obviously a better fighter than Taylor, but it's by a narrow margin and the main reason he had less struggle with Postol is styles. Taylor is already top 10. Crawford keeps on slipping down with his **** opposition.

When Taylor beats Ramirez, he'll have equalled Crawford's best achievement in a better division, he also beat Crawford's best win, and will have multiple guys who are either on the same level as Postol, or better.

Would it really be two that are better though? Is Ramirez any better than Indongo or Burns?

50/50 fight. I slightly favor Ramirez.
