How did he look last night. He got a decent win on paper and is now British champion.

Deserved the win. Didn't look great but didn't look bad either. Scrappy fight.

I’m going to sound like a right ar5e (again) but for me, Tyrone Nurse has such poor ring IQ and discipline. I like him. He’s fast and quite skilled but he lets himself down massively by standing on the inside and trading. It’s not like he’s blessed with power to make it worth it, although he’s got a great chin. If he just worked from the outside, and threw shots in bunches he’d be beyond domestic level by now.

He played into Catterall’s hands last night who worked really well on the inside, throwing some lovely eye catching shots. He sticks his head in a fair bit and really tries to rough his opponent up. He deserved the win although he didn’t have to go looking for Nurse.

Was a scrappy fight, agree with the above, Nurse didn't use his range. Catterall needs to step it up now. Would love to see him take on O'Hara Davies.

I agree, a scrap with Davies would be superb. I think if anything, he’s a lot more experienced than Davies. He has far more amateur experience (66 fights to Davies’s 17) and more pro fights. I’d fancy Catterall to win.

Your spot on about Nurse. That’s the type of reasons why I fancied Catterall to beat him. I think Nurse is one person who would benefit by not being trained by his father as he had the skill to fight at a higher a level but as you say his decision making and ring IQ are nowhere near as good as they should be.

The styles didn't mesh well at all- very scrappy fight, but Catteral is the better fighter and it was a deserved win.

As a few others have mentioned, If I was Frank I would put an offer into matchroom for Ohara Davies - that would be the headline fight Jack now needs and would be great entrainment.

Catterall over Davies for me. Would also be interested in seeing Catterall v Josh Taylor although I think Taylor would take him

Taylor would destroy all the domestic super lightweights.

Agreed. He completely destroyed OD who was/is regarded as one of the best.

Nothing against OHD but no one with any sense thought that.

He was no where near as good as some thought he was that's for sure but he's still a formidable domestic opponents for anybody not named Josh Taylor. I'd have Catterall beating OD but he does not destroy him like Taylor did.

Indeed. But unless and until OHD learns some fundamentals his plateau will be domestic level
