I dont think that will make them have more power punchers. I think it will give them alot more fast slick type fighters though. (Which it seems it does). I dont think have those fast twitch fibers has as much to do with power as your making it out to be. Because of guys like urango, who weigh the same as their opponents, are alot slower, but still pack a punch. Its not like they have some kind of hidden extra mass behind their punches. Its urangos timing and technique which give him his power, not some kind of fast twitch fibers he dosent seem to have.....

Working at the corn fields or where ever the whites had blacks work in back in the day.. this made them pack a punch.Latinos are not new to toiling out the sun back in the day is well.

there are exceptions to the rule and i have said that twice already.

listing a one off fighter is great - i know guys can be slow and bang really hard, they are usually the exception to the rule.

it doesnt change the fact that i have said all along - there will most likely be more power punchers of black african descent because of their genetic predisposition to the traits required to be said puncher

and when you finally provide us studies correlating how these fast twitch whatever you want to call it, actually translate into power punching, I will listen to you.

fast twitch fibres are the first muscle recruited when doing ANY power activity. if you dont think its applicable then hey man you try and disprove it to every known medical authority in the world. your call but let me know how you go.

your asking me to try and prove myself like i just created the idea. its not my idea its the whole scientific community and anyone who has anything to do with human/sport science

if its such a popular theory, why cant you give me any credible links to sites were it show that these fibers directly correlate to power punching boxing? If its the standard, then their should be a plethora of sites for you to link. Can you please do that?

no such thing as a credible link on the internet

this one is cool - it even specifies which part of african history or geneology would lead to certain athletic types.

I dont have access to the university pages through work.sorry mate, incidentally asking for a study directly relating to boxing is impossible. i am talking about links with power and the likelyhood of it being a MAJOR factor. it is not the only determining factor and i never said it was

edit....added the qwrong link first time

Ugly for ignorant people. Some of the strongest men in the world are also caucasians (and yet they happen to be a minority on this planet).

Most boxing fans are basically as deluded as creationists.

Ultimately....If we're all 100% honest with ourselves , this entire thread is just pure fanboyism masturbation.

If you really want to have a serious answer , you first need to go through the peer-review process. Good luck with that btw , since no serious study has ever been done in the boxing community.

agreed as boxing is not studied over and over again ad nauseum like track and field events are.

i have nly argued that some people are genetically predisposed to being able to do something better. in this case punching harder
