I don't agree that it prompts those opinions at all. People who think Froch is in any way a "caveman" has no defence for this type of argument - If he was, it would be simply impossible for him to overcome bigger styles problems than Dirrell and Ward, who are highly praised boxers, and win more decisively.

I think Froch had other advantages. As you mentioned, he had huge advantages in height and he has a proven chin. But he has a really long reach (longer than Dirrell or Ward), and is stronger than Abraham (and stronger than Ward or Dirrell). He didn't need to be quick footed or turn Abraham because Abraham was behind that guard right in front of Froch and Froch just bludgeoned the shorter man from range right in front of him.

It's a different kind of advantage, but still just as effective against a guy like Abraham. At the end of the day it was pretty much target practice for all 3 of them. Froch had the heavier hands though.

As far as the Froch/Abraham fight goes, it was me who kept telling people Froch should be the favorite. I understood the possibility of AA by KO, but I never accepted that as a foregone conclusion like many people did.

I had never seen Froch maintain the kind of discipline and composure he did against AA. However, before the S-6 Arthur Abraham was probably the single most over rated fighter on the planet.

His reputation hung on two things: 1, Knocking out a bunch of feather fisted midgets. 2, Sauerland and AA created the public perception that Pavlik was actively ducking AA. Behind the scenes they NEVER wanted that fight. That's why the ludicrous demand for a $2 million guarantee.

If Arthur had fought world class opposition at 160, he would have been exposed as a hype job long before the S-6 came along.

Come on now. Nobody seriously refers to Froch as a "caveman". :nono

That is reserved for fighters like Abraham. :yep (the only thing separating him from actual Neanderthals being that turtle-shell).

Froch is a good boxer, we all know this by now. He might even be a better boxer than Dirrell (who relies on athletic talent more than boxing skill). He is not a better boxer than Ward.

It seems more and more apparent that the Brits have an inferiority complex when it comes to their fighters. It's very odd.

I think Froch is a better boxer than Dirrell, yeah. I think he's a better fighter than Ward, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the fight, if Froch gets by Johnson. I hope Ward doesn't run like Dirrell and I doubt he will.

Froch won much more easily than Ward, Ward landed so many low blows and got away with it, Froch did not need to. The ref did not allow any in-fighting which I hated. Froch will give Ward Hell, but that's why Ward will insist on his home town, personal referee and judges which Froch should not let him get by with. Bute would knock Ward out, no doubt about it.

Still in America, not far from California either. Have the fight in a neutral country.

Indeed, the people playing "the A beat C better than B did" game seem to have forgotten about Ward and Froch's other common opponent and how their respective fights against him played out.
