Just checked out the Hardy/Padilla fight. Great suggestion. Man, those boys were swingin' for the fences.
Glad you enjoyed. I saw it live on the MSG Network.,,,,, Ike Padilla 3-0-0 (3 KO's) had just signed a 1-year/10-fight pact with Madison Square Garden. They were going to build him up, as the NYC groomed Heavyweight. He was big NYC Golden Gloves star. Leland 'Sugarman' Hardy 3-2-1 (2 KO's), also a Tae-Kwon-Do expert.
I really thought this thread would be devoted to Willie; and that new footage had been unearthed and posted. :sad2
Insane brutal slugfest, thanks for mentioning it. :good [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9criQ6CBLug[/ame] The power of their warrior spirits must have allowed them to battle on in such crippling heat, those guys wanted to FIGHT! :!:
August 25, 1978 Madison Square Garden Vito Antuofermo vs Willie Classen A 10-Round slugfest in the ring, then the fans after the fight. Italians vs Puerto Ricans. A beautiful August night,,,,punches thrown everywhere.
Frank 'The Animall' Fletcher vs. Bill 'Caveman' Lee An ESPN war,,,,,,,, Zovek Barajas vs. Armando Muniz I A West-Coast brawl
darnell wilson vs emmanuel nwodo back in 2007 on espn fnf - there was no skill involved..swinging for the fences ended in one of the most brutal ko's in recent memory [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdXXmJ9QIIU[/ame]
No fight excited me more than Benn-McClellan, yes the tragic ending was horrible, but this was the most brutal & vicious slugfest i've ever seen, with incredible warrior hearts shown by both, as they traded atomic bombs. This content is protected This content is protected
Two of my favorite underrated slugfests, neither featuring HOF fighters: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXFzLTeE7rQ[/ame] The other isn't on youtube--Kenny Keene vs. Terry Ray I
usually most ppl focus on what happened to gerald which is very tragic, but nigel's injuries were just as bad....broken jaw, broken ribs, torn muscles in his neck, a shadow on the brain, involuntary shivering...it was a brutal fight
