    Article over at BoxRec.

Dennis Hobson, McDonnell's manager, has stated that he is still hopeful of staging the contest over here despite losing out on the purse bid. More worrying, he also stated there's a 'plan B' if the fight is scheduled to take place in Mexico...

I cant remember where i read this but the impression I got from the article I read at the scene possibly? Was that though Cazares' people had won the bid they have not got anywhere with regards to the actual staging of the promotion. Sort of like the Roman Martinez Burns situation.

Apparently they have already offered Hobson the opportunity to buy back the promotion? Seems like there is a game of cat and mouse going on.

I doubt Jamie's team will want to travel to Mexico, hope he does though.

He should take it, lets face it if he wants a title shot he'll have to travel to get it whether it's Mexico, US or Japan.

They should have pushed to fight Arce on the Pacquiao/Bradley undercard, he's a lot better than the opponent they did find.

home advantage is key for McDonnel in this fight. Cazares team will have won the bids so they can say to Hobson pay us more cash and we will come to the UK.

  10. This might be Cazares's only chance to fight at the Donny Dome.

A fight of this magnitude can only be held in the concert room of the Park Club at Woodlands

  12. What a night out that would be.

He should travel, too many fighters expect to get home advantage.

    We need more road warriors!

McDonnell should be taking his chance and travelling. What has he got to lose? If he's good enough he shouldn't be scared of going in the opponents backyard.

The fact is, even if fighters get robbed, the fans remember that and so do promoters and it doesn't stunt their career. Look at Chisora after Helenious, look at Glen Johnson's career.

British fighters have a reputation for being "stay at home" champions. Thankfully Amir Khan and Carl Froch and to some degree Ricky Hatton have tried to change that.

For you maybe, but unfortunately not me...I got banned sine die out of the Park Club in 1980 for talking whilst the bingo was on ...... mayhem ensued.
