2-Well Biendima has come alive, a bit crude but still...more in the first minute than in the entire first round, but he does get rocked, Hatanaka with a lovely combination of crisp shots when Biendima makes a mistake up close, body shot from the challenger, and Hatanaka was tagged up top just before the bell...lively!

    Round 2

Biendima is dipping low and taking pendulous strides in close, throwing uppercuts with both hands below Hatanaka's bent elbows. Hatanaka scissors his legs rapidly to create just enough distance to land ramrod straight counters in combination from the bridge of the nose to forehead of Biendima, rocking him a few times. Hatanaka is also landing a nice left downstairs while stepping wide around Biendima. Hatanaka landing some incidental rabbit punches as Biendima cricks his neck and lets himself droop into the strike zone. Biendima taking chances to land his own shots - and is doing so with surprising aplomb.

    10-9 Hatanaka

    20-18 Hatanaka

    Round 3

Biendima is bringing the fight to Hatanaka now, standing toe-to-toe and trading uppercuts. BIG one lands for Hatanaka. Neither willing to give an inch or take a backward step. Hatanaka lumping in body shots in groupings of fives and sixes. Biendima weathering the storm and then shoveling his own uppercuts in, twos & threes. Hatanaka bleeding from the left nostril. Biendima getting the worst of it but forcing a brawl that seems to be throwing Hatanaka off his boxing game. Biendima hoping to land a huge game changer, but instead getting drum-rolled on the face as Hatanaka begins to exert his will and steer it back to a boxing contest. Hatanaka in control at range, but a stray overhand right gets through for Biendima diving in.

    10-9 Hatanaka

    30-27 Hatanaka

    3-Broken nose for Hatanaka?
Anyway, what a cracking round, thrilling stuff early with Hatanaka responding to being tagged, Biendima looks tougher than expected and Hatanaka is getting involved in the wrong type of fight...again,

4-Great action round, think both were hurt, Biendima certainly wilting late in the round, cracking action

In 2019 Hatanaka stopped being trained by his father, and was instead trained by Hideyasu Ishihara...wonder if that's had something to do with him fighting like a fool recently lol

    Round 4

Biendima is putting improbable and downright insane numbers of uppercuts together. I'm talking eight or nine uppercuts in a row marching up to Hatanaka... forcing him to shell up and gingerly slap counters at the body of Biendima. Really effective pressure from the Filipino here. In the final half-minute the momentum turns as Hatanaka begins to surge and lands a body combo that puts Biendima into retreat and sets up a hard right up top from Hatanaka ...but on the whole, it was Biendima's deluge of work carrying this frame.

    10-9 Biendima

    39-37 Hatanaka

I feel as though either very easily could get stopped with a body shot - and the way they're freely swinging and thudding, honestly will be surprised if somebody doesn't!

The kid isn't going to have a long career fighting like this...shame as he's a real talent...but a real dumbass don't waste your long term potential getting in wars like this off TV (yeah Kosei does but he does so ON TV!)

    Round 5

Biendima is throwing hooks into the waistband of Hatanaka, only to absorb one in return and then find his face undefended against the 1-2 sent in as follow-up by Hatanaka. Biendima doing a decent job of stepping away from the jab, and of throwing a wet blanket on Hatanaka on the inside. At that mid-range, though, Hatanaka is dialed in and has Biendima's number with both the body hook and the 1-2 up top. Biendima competing at every turn, clearly in second place but not getting totally outclassed.

    10-9 Hatanaka, close

    49-46 Hatanaka

Early to be thinking FOTY, but... thought is bubbling up, if we get another half as hot as the first, or better yet, ignites further...

Do the fighters even know about the CBC YT broadcast? Even if so, that is too small a platform (although I appreciate the heck outta them doing so for us!) to be frittering away brain cells like this, I agree..

As in this one? High Five do a bit of work to hype the bouts so they are fully aware
As for Kosei he'll be aware that his fights have been shown internationally, as foreign TV (ESPN Knockout) have picked up a few
