Damn it, main event next. I was hoping because they showed this 4-rounder we might get Fulton vs. Carmack too. Maybe if Vera takes out Bruce early - though even then I doubt it as the broadcast is slotted to end in fifteen minutes.

    Round 1

Vera is jerking away from Bruce's stiff left jab, making him miss. Vera works the southpaw jab up into Bruce's turtle shell, pecking it so that Bruce's thumbs are drilled into his own forehead. Vera then dips to his right and works hooks on the exposed body underneath Bruce's high-held elbow.

    10-9 Vera

    Round 2

Vera is doubling his southpaw jab as he roams counterclockwise and keeps a full pace apart from Bruce. Vera working comfortably from range, using jab-feints and patiently canvassing the body after pecking at the head to keep Bruce's guard fixed rigidly in place. Nothing but strong but poorly timed jabs from Bruce.

    10-9 Vera

    20-18 Vera

    Round 3

Vera is following the accurate jab with a variety of different left hands, some shallow uppercuts and some Taser-like shots delivered from the pec to Bruce's face in a serrated line. Bruce gets in a couple of counter right hands but Vera is constantly moving and able to roll with everything he's touched with, absorbing it with his broad shoulders turned in to cover his chin and his knees bent slightly.

    10-9 Vera

    30-27 Vera

    Round 4

Vera has Bruce down once from a whipping right hook under the elbow...Bruce now backed into a corner as Vera works left uppercuts and right hooks downstairs, and down now twice...and this one is over as Vera peppers Bruce!

    TKO4!!

What did you think to Vera IB ? Didn't have much opposition did he but did what he had to do. What was nice was to see my old Ft Worth Texas buddy Paul Reyes in Vera's corner. Paul trained Donald Curry & Paulie Ayala to world titles. I thought he'd retired a while ago. Real nice guy Paul good trainer too. For him to be with John Vera jr I guess he must think he has the makings

Yeah, that's a good pedigree for his chief second, definitely. :think

The kid seems naturally strong and he boxes well enough. Gonna have to wait and see how things go with stiffer opposition before really deciding on him.

I went looking for video of Carmack vs. Fulton and got confused for a second. All that came up was information on an MMA bout Fulton had sixteen years ago, versus a Jay Carmack. (Fulton won that via guillotine choke)

Jessie Magdaleno headlines on UniMas in a showcase over a Filipino journeyman (who got shut out by Chris Avalos :!:)

Tattooed lunkhead Omar Gonzalo Basile is always good for a laugh, headlining on TyC Sports in Argentina.

Chihuas Rodriguez & Cuate Hirales face off in a crossroads match neither can afford to lose on beIN Sports Español.

    ...and that's all, really.

Tomorrow actually has the better combat sports lineup, between Mairis Breidis vs. Danie Venter and the Cowboy vs. Cowboy UFC FN card.
