Two guys who never crossed paths despite fighting during similar time frames. Mesi went undefeated while Boswell retired around 35-2 and fought until he was in his forties

Mesi is 2 for 2 for me tonight including a stoppage over Mike Tyson. Joe will always remain undefeated in my mind.

50/50. Mesi wasn't that good. Boswell wasn't that bad. Mesi should ave retired after Jirov almost Ko'd him. Instead he took a year off, and fought a few nobodies, then retired. I was never a believer. In the Olympic trials, he made the finals, and was KO'd, completely out for at least 30 seconds.

He made it as far as he did thanks to his work ethic, but was never more than a fringe contender type.

true. Good fighter but not a world beater. I think the same could probably be said for Boswell.
