Amateur boxers are aloud to take more punishment under AIBA than they did years ago..
Years ago you couldn't take 2 unanswered punches without a standing 8 but thankfully its better now

Agree entirely. I would've been happy if it had been stopped earlier but the complaints about the ref spoiling the fight would've been predictable.

Nobody who gets in the ring is a bum.

    Just hope Blackwell is OK

You seen a different fight to me, I have never in my life ever seen so many uppercuts land flush on the chin all night, CEJ is a very accurate puncher. Blackwell is a true man and went out on his shield and he was always fighting back but was getting constantly hurt and outclassed so I was surprised his corner never throw towel in. But those who say his team don't care for him as a person I don't but that for one minute, Gary Lockett knows he has a extra tough boxer in the ring who is super fit and he felt CEJ was tiring so he was hoping Blackwell could get back at him late. Do I think that Lockett made a mistake, yes I do but I don't for one minute think he does not care about his fighter, that's bull****. My thoughts and prays are with Nick Blackwell, and hopefully he makes a full recovery asap.

Idiot. Eubanks somewhat pillow-like fists are PRECISELY the problem here. A sustained pillow-pounding round-after-round is more damaging. If Eubank had real ko power Nick would be fine today, after a clean ko.

I honestly literally offhand cant remember the last fighter Ive seen who can tee off with everything he has got and not even score a knockdown!
Who despite hitting his opponents with his sunday punch countless times fails to put any of them down.

Eubanks lack of power is mystifying - but the proof is there for all to see: Spike - Chudinov - Blackwell......opponent after opponent, roun after round, punch after punch... where are the knockdowns/ko's????

i actually agree with most here the fight should of got stopped earlier. Not sure what the ref and the corner saw to think they can win with the punishment blackwell was taking.

Spike o'sullivans corner got it spot on and protected their fighter i am sorry but this should be the number 1 priority of the ref and corner.

    I pray blackwell gets well.

.just watched Sky /sports News - 4th or 5th item was Kell Brook - - NO MENTION AT ALL of the Eubank-Blackwell British Middleweight title fight, and no mention AT ALL of Blackwells condition. This from an English TV outfit.

This is not just an 'oversight'. I find thisneglect deeply offensive. Anyone agree?

This. Quite right. Leaving aside unfortunate outcomes, there does now have to be a question mark as to whether Eubank has the power to dissuade at world level, especially when he lands less than against lesser opponents. I can't see him ever moving to super-middle or meeting success there.

We've seen so many domestic fights stopped too early, Blackwells chin was the reason it continued although I agree his corner should have pulled him out.

In retrospect it should have been stopped earlier, but whilst CEJ was throwing everything at him Blackwell wad never shook up to the point of going down.

It's a shame thought he should have been retired in his corner a few rounds earlier. CEJ wasn't tiered and Blackwell isn't a big puncher.
