Celebrating the Vazquez vs Marquez trilogy

I was on hand at the Staples Center in LA for their 4th match...

Vasquez looked like he might cut his face just walking down to the ring. I was a bit disappointed, but what could you expect?

My favorite fight of their series was number 3, I felt both 1 and 2 were good, but ended in some bit if controversy.

I will say I thought it was a bit of overkill for these guys to fight each other for 4 conservative matches. I've never been a huge fan of immediate rematches, I much rather see guys against different styles and different opponents.

I think the way Pacquiao and Marquez did it was perfect: their four fights were spread out over 8 years, so you never got burned out watching them face each other, where as with Vasques and Marques it was like 2 straight years of them.just fighting each other though.

As for their series, I thought fights 2 and 3 were all time classics. Israel Vasquez one of my all time favorite little guys. I never cared for either Marquez brother, but can not deny their contribution to the sport
