He won a split decision against south african Mathuba in panama he better improves if fighting gamboa in september
DOesnt matter... Styles make fights and Caballero didnt have his usual advantage against another tall fighter in Mathebula.. He's a dangerous opponent for Gamboa..
Gamboa will take him to schooll but he has to be carefull and dont underestimate Caballero and think it will be easy judging by his average performance against Mathebula.
Yes but he's used to fighting much shorter fighters than Mathebula.. Caballero's freakish height and reach advantage is a big part of his game but against Mathebula, it wasn't much of a factor. He's very dangerous for gamboa.
I still have to watch the fight, but I'm not surprised Caballero struggled with him. South Africa has a damn good level of domestic competition right now in the lower weight classes and whoever can scrape to the top will usually provide a stiff challenge for most titleholders when they get their chance.
I don't think that fight was any clear indication of how he would perform against Gamboa. Cabllero has a history of fighting down to the level of his opponent.
Cab is trash, he got a big gift last night. He has no inside game, awful footwork and his headmovement moves towards punches instead of away.
caballero has good footwork..he displayed that in the molitor fight...but his defense still needs improvement particularly his head movement, he tends to rely on his shoulders too much
watch out for gonzales, he is on a roll...he might be the title opponent of the fab 4 in 122 if they decide to move up to 126
