Kind of like how Tim Weatherspoon's fights makes Maidana look extra special.

its interesting that you saw mayweather in caballero, all I saw was a guy who didn't know how it fight effectively in any way. I agree, Mayweather is a great talent and you need skills to fight like him, but I am writing a letter to HBO, Caballero's promotor, and Caballero to urge him that instead of seeking challenges out side of the 126 lb weight class, he should challenge himself by learning how to box. I just can't believe he has so many victories. :adminhis style and instincts are extremely amateurish, and though I am sure his intangibles like chin are better than an amateurs, there is really no skill in him that I haven't seen and fought against in Golden Glove calliber or early pro sparring, nothing to put him on the world level, and I can't believe he has made it to the Tv stage of his boxing career.

Whenever I see Brandon Rios fight, I think, this is why Pacquiao is great.

I saw some guy bust some counter culture kids up in a bar a few days ago, reminded me of a young Pernell Whitaker.

    nice post.

Regarding the Mayweather style. The lesson might be that it's a style that take talent AND requires a lifetime to hone. It therefore can't be taught to a fighter mid-career, which might be the issue with Caballero.

Note that Floyd Mayweather Sr. didn't try and turn Oscar De La Hoya into a shoulder-rolling defensive master.
