I hadn't read that far down to PBF's post, just the OP. That's...probably not for personal consumption, no.

What did he make in his heyday? $250,000 a titlefight?, and then he had to pay taxes in 2 countries.

Im not glad or happy he got locked up, but was there a typo on his charges or something? 10 kilos and hit off with just five years? Thats like trafficking times a million. In a lot of states trafficking is gonna net ya 15-20 years.

No, I'm not trying to imply anything. I thought maybe the family being from Belgium had any relevance. I just find it odd when reports include race, or ethnicity, as if it makes a difference.

Okay, fair, I didn't think of it, just used to news reports including mundane details like that.

Like if a plane went down, they'd state "7 people were killed including two Japanese nationals, a Saudi diplomat, and four Danish exchange students" or something like that. Just the kind of basic, non-identifying facts you pretty much take for granted. I guess if we're going to question the innocence of including such details, why state any? Why not say "a person was found somewhere fatally shot" instead of "a London man, believed to be a barrister, was found shot in the head in his West End apartment"? They just state whatever is known. There's usually not a presumption of ulterior motives on the part of the journos by eliciting a particular sentiment based on the demographics of the people involved. (except in obvious cases like, say, Trayvon Martin or something)

Ivan Calderon barely got away with one in the last couple years, too. Coke operation on one of his properties. Lawyers and plausible deniability are great!

Yeah, even TV-headlining longtime champs in the lower weights don't usually sniff the better part of a million, traditionally.

Fighters with massive size advantages need to have fast hands otherwise they hit the wall when they move up in weight. I guess Cab was around for many years, too, so the fall was inevitable. He was a beast yet a big name could've vaulted themselves by stepping in the ring and beating him, a feat obviously not impossible by the time Litzau did it.

I mean, there was no reason to form an opinion either way in the Iron Boy case. He could have been up to some kind of shadiness, or it could have just been happenings without his knowledge in a house that happened to be in his name (but which, IIRC, wasn't his primary residence?) - I remember details being pretty slim in that one. So we can't really try him in the court of public opinion, anymore than he could be criminally prosecuted. You've got to, if not presume innocence, at least not outright presume guilt unless there's compelling and non-circumstantial reason to do so.

Yeah but c'mon. People should realize that celebs and the wealthy get away with murder. If there's smoke there's almost always fire. If there are dots to connect, you can probably safely connect them... Like these molestation cases popping up everywhere. You know how they got away with it for decades? Presumed innocence... Think of all the celeb/wealthy accusations and charges in your lifetime. Now think of how few to none were ever cleared of wrongdoing (without settlements followed by sketchy case drops). I just don't buy it. Pretty much ever.

I don't care, either way. I love Calderon, that story changed nothing. Drug peddlers are no concern of mine. I don't like anything that side of weed myself, but I don't take issue with others' vices.

[Don't want to make it a back and forth debate, IB! You are right, for sure.]

You do the crime, you do the time, I don't care what the excuse is. Boo ****ing hoo, he's a Boxer, he's a this or a that or the other, it doesn't matter. He's a grown man, not a child, he weighed his options and chose to do something that is against the law and that you can end up serving time for, so..... cry me a river, you make a bad decision, you have to pay for it.
