According to fightnews Celestino Caballero is to fight Francisco Leal (14-4-2) in his next fight on a card promoted by KO Entertainment on August 29 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.

Rubbish fight for him, I'm a huge fan of keeping fighters busy but this is pointless. I checked his oppenent's record and it is even worse then it looks he is surely going to be utter rubbish and he shouldn't be allowed near a World title fight. We all know Caballero won't be getting a fight with Juanma so why stay at this weight there are no big fights for him at this division anymore. He is a big guy and draining himself down to 122 cannot be good for him he should move up to Feather and if no one fights him then take a mandatory and make someone fight him ,I would like to see him against Cristobal Cruz the winner would be in a good place for a big fight after that fight. Simply put a massive waste of time, I would be shocked if it is shown on US TV which is what is needed if he is to get a big fight.

I have to be honest and I say although I agree with you that is a bit harsh. I can see why they wouldn't fight him because he is the epitome of high risk/low reward fighter. Caballero did himself no favours by moving his last fight to Panama it was the ultimate case of short sight he had a chance to fight on Showtime get some decent exposure and he blow it he went for a few more $$$ instead
    .
Personally I would quite like to see Juanma take on Antonio Escalante and then how about a fight between the winner of a Mtagwa/Molitor fight and then he couldmove up to 126. There aren't many good fights left at 122 so why not bide his time build his name but at the same time allow the other big names at Feather get a few defense's in and make a bigger name for themselves.

These are the names at Feather.

    Israel Vasquez
    Rafael Marquez
    Steven Luveano (WBO Title)
    Elio Rojas (WBC Title)
    Yuriorkis Gamboa
    Daniel Ponce de Leon
    Bernabe Concepcion
    Chris John (WBA Title)
    Rocky Juarez
    Cristobal Cruz (IBF Title)

Most of these are young champs that have talent but need more defense's to build their name or with some of those a chance to build a name at the new weight and get some momentum. Why can't some of those fight out between themselves and get exposure and a better resume which would equal a late fight with more money, bigger fight and more credit for the winner of that fight.

Good points but i still feel like JuanMa is taking a hit in the rep department by out pricing himself and blatantly Ducking Cab.
I know Arum has a lot to do with it too, But this fight makes very perfect sense right now and the fact that JuanMa is running from it is pissing me off because i really am a fan of his.
