Great, very entertaining fight with lots of action. I haven't seen any threads about this fight & I'm a bit shocked.

    Comments?

Yeah, I agree with that but the early workrate & accuracy of McEwan was a lot of the reason for that.

Lee's defence is awful. Great heart though. He should have been throwing the 1-2 way more, instead of the right hook.

yeah but at the same time Lee would have dominated earlier if he had of start throwing the left more often earlier on. when he start putting combinations together he was bossing the fight , he really needs to sort his defence before moving onto world level , he dosent move his head enough ala john duddy and I think if Duddy was fighting last night he probaly would of beat Andy .

I agree on all counts. Andy was moving straight back too, with no head movement to speak of. Lee was leading with the right hook rather than looking to finish a combination with it.

You have to give McEwan credit for the quick combinations & body shots though.................

It certainly lived up to it's name. A war indeed. Can't for the life of me understand why Lee wasn't letting his left go, I had assumed he hurt it but in the post fight conference he didn't mention it. When he finally did start to let the left go, that's what did the damage. Great heart and courage from both fighters, if McEwan had a bit more pop he would have had Lee out of there in the 5th or 6th. Hopefully we see a rematch somewhere down the line. McEwan deserves one.

was a hell of a fight, man. Lee's defense is Still not what you'd think it would be by now...Steward was callin' for Lee to fight for MW Title in '08.

** Is Lee still with Manny Steward?

They were smashin' each other the whole fight. Entertaining as hell for sure. I didn't know much of McEwan, but had been watchin' Andy since bout '07 late or so. Good ****...:good

They are not world beaters yet, but it was an evenly matched fight and a good one. Lee started strong and looked like a Kronk fighter, but looked like he gassed and McEwan did an excellent job countering Lee who started leaving himself wide open with wide open shots trying too hard for the ko. McEwan also had good movement bouncing on his toes using his tree trunk like calves. It seemed McEwan was on his way for the victory dominating Lee, but I reminded everyone watching the fight with me Lee was still dangerous enough to turn the fight around with one punch and sure enough that's what happened. When Lee worked behind a jab, he did good. He needs speed, defense, and put 4-5 punch combos instead of just 1 or 2 punches at a time. I look forward to a rematch.:good

It got some mention on the Martinez Dzinziruk RBR thread. Very entertaining fight though. McEwan fought well the first 7 rounds or thereabouts. He just never recovered from that 1st KD. Hats off to both guys though, tought fight, tough guys.

He is still with Steward, but he was with Cotto. Steward's son or godson or something was his stand in.

A rematch is the best option for Lee right now.

It would be a chance to really shine, if he watched the tape and really focused on the things that brought him success early and late (and avoided all that rubbish in the middle).

It could even be an early KO win where he barely breaks a sweat.

Or, he could have another brain fart and we'd have another fun war on our hands (as McEwan proved you can't easily get away with that **** against him).

    Win-win. :yep
