All day today the word had been that some smart money had been placed on New Zealand to not get beaten by more than 16 points.

NSW TAB gave New Zealand 16.5 head start which I believed was not enough against an Australian team full of champions but as much as I wanted to have a good go on the Aussies I kept getting told that there was something rotten in the air....

After 25 minutes I was pissed! Australia was 22-0 up and looked like they could win by 50 yet as the game went on Australia turned off. Going into the final 5 of the game Australia were up 28-6 and could have easily put the point spread out of reach but with 40 seconds remaining they let New Zealand score in the corner.

Funny thing is that the N.Z goal kicker had to convert the goal from near the sideline to bring the difference back to 16...and it went straight between the post!!!

For those in the know they won by half a point. I got to keep my money in my pocket (except for the $10 I had on Inglis as first try scorer.)

Coincidence or was there something fishy going on???

I think it's just a coincidence mate. Although, the Kiwi's generally do fade towards the end.

I've had two %500 bets over the last 3 weeks, and they both got up.

The first one was Geelong to beat Fremantle, and they only won by one point (I would have **** myself had I have watched that game), and the 2nd was for the Warriors to beat Canberra last weekend.

I got back the $250 I lost on Souths against the Sharks a few weeks ago, and a little extra for myself. :D

In todays Sunday Telegraph there's an article on the 2nd sporting page about a $100,000 sting in the NRL written by James Hooper.

Believe me when I tell you that players and their families are involved. Remember the salary cap has the majority of players earning less than $3000 a week, not much for elite sportsmen who believe they should be getting more.

Surely no-one believes that the New Zealand team that ran out could hold a red hot Aussie team to 1 TRY over the last 60 minutes!!!

With the 3 Souths boys in the NZ team, Australia are lucky they won that match.
