They've forwarded a motion to next BBBofC meeting to ban football affiliated clothing at boxing events.

Football support doesnt help boxing does it! Hatton, Mitchell etc

There needs to be a cull of these dinosaurs.

It could be possible that it insights violence and affiliates it with the club who dont want to be seen in such a light. Stupid i know but i reckon that is the reason...

As a boxing AND football fan I don't want the two to mix. I hate seeing pissed up football "fans" ruining shows with their moronic chants and partisan following of one fighter.

I think it's a rare moment of insight. Wearing colours just gives pissed up and hyped up ringpieces help when identifying targets.

Its just the fighters than are not allowed to wear football clothing not the fans to prevent trouble at the shows.

As far as I'm aware boxers currently have to have permission to wear a football strip whilst coming to the ring, but I'd need to check my rulebook about that one. I wonder what their stance is on footballers coming out to football songs after watching Willie Casey coming out to the Celtic Symphony on Saturday

This wouldn't be the first time this has been done. At Froch-Dirrell I had to rent a locker to store my Forest scarf.

I think anyone who was at the Mitchell vs Katsidis fight would probably agree this is not a bad idea. Anyone wearing a non west ham shirt would have got linched. As it happens several people got linched regardless of what they were wearing. We were under scuitiny the whole time we were in there by the Hammers fans.

I would say on balance it is not that bad an idea. They say it works in pubs.
