Perella, the undefeated favorite (120-20 amateur record, 5-0 with four kayos so far in the pros) has several inches of height on Castillo, another part-time crossover MMA fighter.

Six foot against...5'7", tops.

 

Two zip Perella.

Third heaping helping of hot garbage tonight; hopefully the main event can salvage the card.

 

Perella gets in one partially connected left hook with ten seconds left...best punch in four rounds.

Very boring shutout. Castillo just ran, and Perella doesn't really know how to cut the ring off and force the action.

Toka Kahn-Clary vs. Jonathan De Jusús Pérez Morillo II, 8 rounds @ lightweight

 

Round 1

Pérez is circling, taking lots of crisscrossing steps with his knees bent inward, floating a defensive left jab without aiming it to score. Kahn-Clary is stalking, lobbing in rangy body shots and lead lefts up top. Pérez is changing directions every few steps and jabbing in on Kahn-Clary, only for the bigger man to weave his face around Pérez's fist and score his own right jab.

This was scheduled for super feather but they both fudged the limit.

 

Round 2

Pérez is jabbing in close and tying up, or skating along the ropes and veering away on his insoles precariously as Kahn-Clary fires two and three pieces at the body and head. Pérez looking uncomfortable with the pressure despite Kahn-Clary not seeming to have gotten beyond second gear. Kahn-Clary suddenly ups his speed on the front-foot, pursuing his quarry into the corner. Pérez desperately wings a looping right, left hook, and three uppercuts slicing the middle. Kahn-Clary blocks everything and surprises Pérez with a counter double left uppercut, scoring a hard KD. The ref waves it off as Pérez is floundering up.

KO2!!

 

"What's next for Toka?"

"Sheeeyit, we want anybody, baby. You know? I'm 28 years old..."

I honestly don't think a Galahad rematch is a bad idea, should TKC be able to lure him up to do it at 130lbs. He could definitely avenge that loss; I scored their last bout a draw.
