It's clever, Eddie knows there's numbers with good mexican talents. He'll get a fair few mexicans on board if he signs Chavez Jr, it's a decent move in terms of improving subscriptions on the platform.

This is one of those signings basically just there for getting the DAZN platform going in the U.S. Kind of like buying Peter Crouch as a League One club, he's only there to get people to fill the 5000 seater stadium. Same sort of thing with this.

 

Its a recognizable name to throw on a card, once Hearn has an established fleet of solid names that can sell he will be turning people like Chavez Jr away but right now i bet he is tempted. Although if he feels the Mexican is unreliable he wont want to know, he doesnt need anybody rocking his ship

Jr can be on someone’s undercard at best and even that is iffy.
