i dont think they get hes not even the best in the division ,nver mind the UK .I kow you have to hype ,but it just seems they dont have a clue a bit! Hennessey is going to use that belt and guide him to a title shot by avoiding the likes of Frampton/Quigg/Munroe etc but i suppose CH5 is his cash cow
Weren't they saying that there were people rated above him? Sure, his promoter is going to say that he would beat them... you kinda have to expect that.
They're trying to make a star out of him but not trying too hard and I don't think he'd become a star anyway. Time will tell but I don't see the x-factor with him
Al Bernstein's co-commentator (forget his name) was reading out blatantly scripted garbage i.e. the one about Wale being a landscape gardener and hoping to change the landscape of boxing - was toecurlingly woeful. And then he was basically saying Eubank Jr was putting his balls on the table by facing Mathews in this fight lol FFS. I know promoters have to sell their fighters but steady on, it is a joke to call out Frampton, Quigg, Monroe when you know perfectly well that TV politics is a ready made excuse if/when there is a call to make the fight i.e. Fury-Price.
Hennesey doesnt have many bug fighters. Her has to big them up. Fury, Eubank and gallahd are his best prspects. He has to make people think they are going to be stars. Especially when he has a tv deal based on those three fighters. He said Fury would smash povetkin and beat wlad in 2 more fights. He said that Eubank could beat any middlewieght in the country after his first fight and hell do the same with gallahad. Channel 5 will do the same becasue they need people to watch. It happens all the time. Its just to try and make the most out of a fighter. Boxing is business for promoters and tv companies and nothing else.
maybe your right ,just beggers belief ...also the interview with Tyson Fury and him bumming up the fighters... dont make me laugh
Apart from the bit where they showed the British super bantamweight rankings with Munroe, Quinny and Frampton all above Galahad.
Well they'll be happy with the viewing figures - 847k on the overnights, not as much as a Fury fight obviously but still very good for C5 and a relatively unknown prospect. ITV averaged 1.05m in the same time slot so they weren't too far behind one of the big boys.
they have already made him a bigger name then the rest of the lads at the weight, so why stop right now~?
Dave Farrar the commentator is one of and IMO the best football commentator around in Britain. Sadly he's poor on the boxing but trying to get better but not good enough. Channel 5 are trying to build boxing up and stars with Mick's stable, Nothing wrong with it wasn't shocking they were just doing what other channels do. They didn't put him number 1 or 2. They spoke about the main players in division. His promoter's got belief in him and feels he can fight them guys and beat them. Galahad impressed a few lads last night, looked on facebook and saw a status about how good he is. I think he's decent, got a long way to go but he's got skills.
