Ch7: Jakkrawut Majoogoen vs. Salatiel Gelig Amit RBR

Just scoured BoxRec for anybody in the fly range (even checked straw & bantam for a total five division radius) in either the Philippines or Indonesia (name sounds more Pinoy to me, but, just covering all bases, and those are the pair of countries from which Thais most love to import their foreign record-padders) with a name even remotely like that, and couldn't find one. Debut, maybe?

Round 1

Majoogoen is jabbing the body and hooking Amit on the right cheek when he tries diving in with his own body 1-2 after the visitor tries pulling himself back for a slingshot. Amit keeps falling just a little short, a beat or two behind Majoogoen offensively. Amit has a few sneaky tricks up his sleeve to compensate for the hand speed deficit, throwing a looping right feint to cause Majoogoen to sink into a retreating crouch and then peppering him with downward-poking jabs and rights on either hip. Majoogoen backs him off with a couple of spearing lead rights to get inside past Amit's jab and then just misses with a counter hook.

Round 2

Majoogoen is caught by a couple of jabs and body slashes, Amit working his way in by faking the looping right up top or bopping it off the rear of Majoogoen's left glove to keep him worried about it. Majoogoen suddenly makes a quick adjustment, bunching his arms together, palms facing in, and just begins SLAMMING Amit repeatedly with a two-fisted uppercut attack, slicing up the middle, forcing Amit to retreat. Majoogoen strewing in some hooks in pursuit now, continuing the uppercut assault, bringing it down into Amit's midsection now. Amit showing chin & grit but getting battered around the ring. Majoogoen landing power shots with both hands, low & high. Amit threading in a few counter jabs while ducking & weaving in front of him, then rises with a slap-hook off the jab, but just keeping a lid on Majoogoen, as securing the frame on points is a lost cause.

Round 3

Majoogoen is starting to bait Amit, loading the bazooka chamber and emitting a pull-counter right against his face every time he starts to jab. Amit starting to get rocked very badly, although he bravely continues to creep his way from corner to corner, never quite letting himself get trapped, always keeping his own shots coming in reply as he moves laterally, but his jabs are doing nothing to slow Majoogoen or even to obstruct his vision as he takes perfect aim with his laser-guided right hand, blasting Amit on his temple and sometimes lathering up straight & uppercut combos off it.

10-9 Majoogoen, almost 10-8

30-27 Majoogoen

 

Majoogoen vs. Higa II would be fun, since both are campaigning at super fly now. Unfortunately the former is walking the WBC path and the latter is ranked only by the WBA (6th).

 

Round 4

Majoogoen is ducking Amit's jabs and wild desperate underhanded swipes from against the ropes, coming up for air with a long 1-2 flying quickly into Amit's face. Majoogoen is eating some leather now, Amit standing his ground and driving through some right hands on the chin and turning over full-power hooks in the pocket, but Majoogoen is countering with rights on the body and backing Amit up with his own hooks.
