    Round 12

Moonsuree tries swatting aside Khonco's shots from long range, and succeeds in batting down a lead right but then eats a couple of jabs. Moonsuree's reflexes less obedient than he seems to realize after eleven very kinetic rounds. Khonco feeling the potential shift in momentum, looking confident as he steps halfway in and snipes from mid-range with body shots - but I'm not sure he can do much of anything with just a couple of minutes on the clock and no real power to speak of. Moonsuree is jabbing defensively from a distance and tying up when Khonco gets near.

    10-9 Khonco

    118-109 Moonsuree

54 have tried 54 have failed. It's irrefutable.

That knockdown was a thing of beauty how could they have cut from that?

When that weird horn plays in the background I keep expecting to see the chick from Audition come sauntering out with her needle case all primed and ready.

    WBC minimumweight top 15 contenders:

    1. Simphiwe Khonco
    2. Melvin Jerusalem
    3. Byron Rojas
    4. Norihito Tanaka
    5. Luis Castillo
    6. Jing Xiang
    7. Mark Anthony Barriga
    8. Lito Dante
    9. Tsubasa Koura
    10. Marco John Rementizo
    11. Chao Zhong Xiong
    12. Satanmuanglek CP Freshmart
    13. Jonathan Refugio
    14. Masataka Taniguchi
    15. Eliezer Gazo
Well, he just brushed aside his mandatory, pretty effortlessly. He beat #2 in 2017 - but get this: it would have been a draw except for a point deduction from Jerusalem (official scorecards read 115-113 and 114-113 x2 for Moonsuree)...so that might be an interesting rematch. Rojas is among the better names on Knockout's record in his WBA reign...so that would offer an opportunity to contrast performances. Jing Xiang started his career 8-4-2 but has improved quite a bit, and is now among China's top p4p talents...and this would be a chance for Moonsuree to exact some revenge on behalf of Thai elder statesman Kompayak Porpramook, whom Jian beat up in January...

And of course any of the Filipinos are guaranteed to be game & tough...

Ouch... a good number of them are journeymen or gatekeepers at best. Division is very, very weak.

Jerusalem rematch is due, I'd say an eliminator would be appropriate between himself and Rojas, Tanaka, Castillo or Xiang. Wish Moonsri got that IBO title as it'd invite more unifications, he has to fight Knockout CP Freshmart. I don't care if he vacates the WBA right afterwards, the fight just has to happen.

 Nope, nada. They have no one.
Strangest signing by a big promotion in quite a while. Especially considering that Moon-Moon is still fighting in Thailand and there have been 0 talks of his USA debut.
GBP couldn´t even get this fight to be shown in USA. How hard could it have been to get DAZN to stream it?

IB funfact: the current lineage of Moonsuree's title begins with none other than Chaozhong Xiong, our present-day #11 ranked contender (somehow, despite being 37 years old and not having a win in over 2 years :dunno)

It was seven years ago when the "Little Chinese Tyson" (yep, that's what they decided to go with) fought Javier Resendiz for the belt that Kazuto Ioka had vacated, and earned the distinction of becoming the first boxing world titlist from the People's Republic. He made one defense, a controversial MD against Denver Cuello (whom many believe to be the best fighter of the Philippines of the last generation to not bag a championship) before dropping it via KO to dead average Mexican journeyman Oswaldo Novoa. In his own second defense, Novoa would be schooled and made to quit on his stool by Moonsuree...and the rest is the stuff of TBE legend. :sisi1
