Alright so the Fab Four of the late 70s and early 80s for the super featherweight division. ASIDE from their fights with each other, what are their best fights with other people?

Ones that I have to offer:
    Bobby Chacon vs Danny Lopez
    Bobby Chacon vs Art Frias
Rafael Limon vs Chung Il Choi

Their fights with each other are so legendary among passionate boxing fans, but I'm interested in their great fights outside of this group.

Yep. I love that straight right hand of Choi. Right down the pipe, wasn't it?

By far my favorite era in that division & Arguello was in the mix too. And, they fought each other. Gave rematches. It seemed like every 3 or 4 months there was a terrific matchup in that division and a loss really didn't set these guys back the way losses seem to effect other guys.

What a great time irt was for diehard boxing fans.

Choi was an offensive beast.Great long straight punches.

A shame he was so fragile, as if not he would have been a major player.

All of Chacon's fights were his best fights. I've always thought he was hands down the most consistently entertaining fighter ever, with only Israel Vasquez coming close.

I seem to remember Boza's fight with Lockridge being back and forth.

Would have loved to have seen Limon and Boza mix it up with Danny Lopez.

Boza had a real Tiger by the tail with Guy Villagas, but finally caught him for a brutal Ko
which ruined Guy (as a similar Ko los to Boza did to the heat Vederosa)
Boza also had a very tough time with one Blaine Dickson...whatever happened to him ?
A draw as i recall with Terrance Alli was an action affair but the wars were catching up to Boza by this time.

went to a lot of Limon fights. He and Cuevas and Lopez and the Mex Bantams were my favorites. I thought the Limon-Arguello fight in NYC was very good. Saw this one on TV Bazooka really troubled Alexis and w/out the eye injury, who knows what happens. But a very good fight by a truly unique fighter and actually a nice guy. I wish someone would write a book on these guys.

What a great fight that is to watch. They totally discount Boza coming into it. I remeber an interview w/ Boza where he says how he was hitting Guy to the body but Guy didn't seem to realize he was being hurt until his roof caved in. Great choice.

Boza's fight with Robert Elizondo is terrific. I believe Flea has it on his youtube channel if you haven't seen it.

Chacon had a great performance against Lopez of course, but one of his most exciting was one of his last, against Art Frias. Tremendous battle.

Speaking of Choi, I loved Limon's effort against him.........take a bunch of right hands to the face for six rounds, then hit him in the body a couple times and watch the referee count. Limon was as *******, but a hard *******.

Navarette I haven't seen as much of; just the Limon fight and Arguello, where he showed nothing.

I definitely need to check out Navarette vs Choi
I've continued to hear good things about it, never got around to watching it, though I know there is no english commentary unfortunately

Navarette looked devastating crushing Boza Edwards ...

Boza had some terrific fights but looked terrifying against Johnny Verderosa ...

Chacon looked brutal stopping Little Red

Limon had more than a few ...

Stonehammerjack - yes you have to feel sorry for Guy, he could perhaps of developed into a TV fan favourite in his own right if he hadnt of fought Boza, as it was he let it all hang out, trying to seize his chance with both dynamic hands,
Talk about some seed falling on Stoney Ground.
Guy Villagas Vs Michael Katsidis now that would of been something. !

    Regards Area.

Limon mugged an older, faded Lionel Rose and looked crude, inartistic and awfully freaking scary in the process.

Just watched Rafael Limon vs Jose Isaac Marin

Quick fight, but exciting, and is a good example to show someone the fury that Rafael brings to the ring

I thought that Bobby Chacon was at his best while showing his boxing skills to great effect in his bout with Danny "Little Red" Lopez. Later on in his career, Chacon became more of a brawler.
