chad dawson calls out bhop but never calls out other young top guys???why

I don't even know who the **** Braehmer is. I've never heard of him. I checked him out on boxrec, and I see he lost to Mario Veit and lost a lopsided decision to Garay. Maybe he's good, maybe he's not. I have no idea, and I highly doubt the average American fight fan knows who the hell he is either.

 

In the other Dawson thread, I mentioned that the sooner he moves on from Hopkins, the better. I understand why he'll continue to call out Hops, but I wish he'd start clearing out the rest of the division by fighting a little more often in the meantime. I wouldn't favor any of the rest of the top 10 to beat him, but him taking those guys out is still better than only fighting every 6-7 months. Yeah, most of them are "nobodies". But Chad racking up wins against them is better than nothing at all because right now he's idling his prime away. At his age he should be fighting 3-4 times a year. And, though I have nothing to base it on, I have a gut feeling the Pascal fight's going to get pushed back as it is.

On another note, I think Cloud's getting overrated as hell and I think Chad would dismantle him. If Cloud's team ever changes their mind and decides to get in the ring with Dawson, that's what'll happen. Cloud's team essentially played "chicken" with Chad by turning down HBO, and Chad flinched by vacating the title instead (and I don't blame him there). We'll see if/when Team Cloud actually wants that fight.

 

Cause Bernard is still ranked number one @ LHW and has a far bigger name than anyone else there. Pretty simple to understand.

 

Pascal would be a good option for his next fight.

I think hes wasting his breath at this stage, i think its pretty obviouse that hopkins has no intention of answering the call (unfortunately)

 

Dawson is fighting Pascal this summer.

 

Braehmer is in jail right now and won't be getting out anytime soon.

 

He wants Hopkins to become a big (or at least bigGER) name. I doubt he's afraid of younger guys, he just wants the Hopkins name.

 

One problem, dawson himslef is not a moneymaker. Yes he is very talented, but outside of the hardcore fans he is hardly a name. heck pascal and diaconu has WAY bigger fanbase than dawson. IMO he needs to beat the top 2-3 LHW (not including hopkins) then go for b hop... better yet, move to HW. I think his boxing skills is very good and underrated, enouhg for him to be competitive in the HW div....

 

At the time Diaconu was 24:0 and big puncher, he got exposed but
not by Dawson who left his belt and run away to fight Tarver instead
test his shaky chin against Diaconu. Sure now we know Diaconu is not
so special but it takes to have balls to test yourself against low reward
high risk opponent, Adamek had balls, Dawson has none.

I've seen him several times, and he sucks. He's a hype machine that Universum has matched against joke opposition to get a title simply because he's native German and thus popular in Germany. Garay, Erdei, Campillo, etc. would all kick his butt.

 

So you're hating on Dawson for calling out a top 5 pound for pound guy in his weight class?

 

Problem is they complain about that about that and then he only fights twice a year. It's hard for a young champ to build their name (and subsequently their fanbase and marketability) fighting that infrequently.

At Chad's age, Roy was fighting 4 times a year.
James Toney, between the ages of 26 and 27, fought 11 times.

Dawson's 2 per year fight schedule is one that an established star and moneymaker should have. If he wants more money and notoriety, make more fights. Vitali Klitschko is more active than Dawson. Chad's only had 1 more fight than Hopkins over the past 2 years.
