The first part I agree with, but Dawson's been fighting where the money is. When Calzaghe was at 168, it was just Calzaghe, but there were a lot of bigger money names at 175. Now, he's talking about moving to 168 (which I don't think he can do physically anyway) because after Pascal, there will be no big names left at 175, but lots of names at 168 because of the Super Six. That has nothing to do with Calzaghe. Calzaghe-Dawson was never a realistic option for anyone. If someone brings that up, it's a pretty good litmus test that they don't know what they're talking about.

Calzaghe-Dawson not happening had NOTHING to do with Dawson's close shave against Johnson. If anything, someone looking weak would make Calzaghe more likely to fight them, not less likely.

 

If Dawson is ducking Erdei and Diacano, then Steve Cunningham is ducking me. Because that is how laughable this is. Dawson wipes his shoes on what Erdei and Diacano consider "great wins".

So double figure wins over Johnson whos lost how many? and 14 years older
Double figure wins over Tarver who was beaten even wider by Hopkins first time round and whos 15 years older
And undefeated Adamek who at the time had a LHW resume that consisted of 2 close fights with Briggs and Ulrich. Even now Adameks rated for beating a hyped CW and fighting poor HWs, but im not calling him a bad fighter either.

Erdei beats Gonzalez (who beat a fresher Johnson) when highly rated after his best win
undefeated Garay twice
Sahnoune, Ulrich and beats Fragomeni who at that time had only been beaten by Haye
11 title defences.
