Hopkins looked like **** against Wright?

He ruined Wright. Granted wright was fighting at a weight way out of his capacity but he was soundly beaten, almost as bad as KP.

    Really?

I've consistently won money over my life betting boxing. I am very good at it.

You need to follow the money. ES does not put his name on any fighter at this juncture in his career. he has enough money, especially that through commentating.

hopkins is fighting his third tough fight in one year.

did you foget that when you "know what to look for" when concluding that b-hop is going to win?

by the way, i have made good money on b-hop and he is my favorite fighter going back even before the antoine echols fights.

dawson should be no worse than even money here and there is great value.

a 46-year-old fighting three complete hard fights in one year.

    think about that.

Fair enough. If Chad wins and does it impressively, being the first since RJJ in 1993, I'll give him full credit and will gladly say he's made improvements as a fighter.

Let me first say that the post you quoted wasn't my response to you...but Steward has had some failed experiments in the past few years - Taylor and Cintron. He trains guys who fit that boxer/jabber style and some work out well, others don't. We'll have to wait and see with Dawson. The jury's out.

My issue isn't with people saying Dawson will win - he can win and he very well might. Hopkins is still a quality fighter, but he's a shell of what he used to be and even since the Pavlik/Calzaghe fights, he's faded a lot. And I wouldn't be opposed to putting a bit of money on Chad. My issue is with people who think he'll demolish and stop Hopkins and say so confidently, and those who overestimate his abilities as a fighter.

Adamek ducked Hopkins. It was on espn or something. They offered him over a mil and he refused. Hasnt made anything close to that since.

Dawson's not knocking anybody... certainly not Hopkins. He's a boxer, not a fighter. You have it or you don't and he's the first name that comes to my mind when I think of a boxer who's not a fighter.

Great hand speed? lol quit being a nuthugger. He is slow compared to Dawson, he is even slow compared to Pascal. He looked ridiculously slow against Calzaghe. Face it Hopkins has lost A LOT of speed over the years.

ES trained both cintron and taylor simultaneously along with WK. He also had timing problems regarding fight schedules that could have had a negative effect on his training as WK was his main focus. That is not the case with dawson. The main reason not to take b-hop this fight is three hard fights in one year.

this factor is a great betting angle that any handicapper would look at.

this is probably a ten unit fight for me on dawson.

Every fighter tries to do his best in a fight and that is what Chad is doing. He's not saying that he will knock him out but that he's training to achieve a goal like that. I personally doubt it cause I have seen Chad many times and this is not a guy who looks for that, it may come but he's not fighting to take em out, not at least in these big fights... Against Tarver, he was moving side to side, very cautious, and winning on handspeed, sharp punching, throwing double, triple jabs, going to both sides of the body, lead right hooking and double right hooking and getting back to defensive stance. Chad said himself that he wanted to outwork him in the post-fight interview. I guess he can't do that to Hopkins in risk of getting tagged too many times. Tarver is heavy handed but he is slow and relaxes in front of you, Johnson always comes forward to punch back, Bernard ducks, feints, slips punches to get his own home. It's a complete different fight and yes, Chad may not be prepared still.

Dawson and the mittens are very close but this time, he gives them all.

Seriously, he said the same thing before his fighr agaonst Diaconu and we saw the same old Dawson. You cannot teach how to be a warrior

    Yeh...

    Thats not happening.

Dawson may win, but he's not knocking out Hopkins.

These are the best opponents Dawson has faced: Glen Johnson, Antonio Tarver, Jean Pascal, Eric Harding, Adrian Diaconu, Tomasz Adamek for a total of 8 fights.

How many of those guys has he knocked out?....None. He's never shown the ability to starch someone at the top levels. He hasn't had a KO in about 7 fights and that was against Epifanio Mendoza.

Whens the last time Dawson has scored a knockdown? Tarver I? When's the last time he had someone hurt badly?

Will he win? Perhaps. He's capable of it. Will he knock him out? Probably not.

Exactly. Dawson's not starching any top fighters, especially not Bernard Hopkins.
