Chad had that virtuoso performance against Adamek to start a new time in the LHW Division but it didn't last that long. How come it didn't? Adamek was a balls to the wall, blood, sweat and tears warrior who had a mighty punch like those two Briggs fights prove and yet, Chad outpunched him almost all the way... Thunderous body punching, beautiful sneaking straight left hand punching, excellent short body and head movement, good ring generalship and commitment to fight. Ever since, the fella is fellin his opponents out and scoring reasonable points margins to create the advantage and last the 12 rounder... You are not going into a big stage fight like that! Many things can happen and you may lose. Suppose you start out on the wrong foot and then what you gonna do? If you're some Joe Calzaghe, you slap your way to the finish line and cross yo fingers, if you're some Tavoris Cloud or Antonio Tarver or T Adamek, you try to take your opponent out of there each and every remaining second of the fight. But with this beautiful specimen, slick, swift, stylish but nothing much else, then it's difficult. Specially if you are against a guy who believe's more in himself than you or believe's that you are NOT!
Don't see Chad Dawson stopping Bernard but I definately see him beating Bernard. Dawson is the prototype boxer to beat Bernard. Faster and longer. Chad Dawson gets an awful lot of undue criticism on this site, I'd put him in with anyone from supermiddleweight up to cruiserweight. He hasn't even peaked yet.
