Dawson's resume is impressive & he's the only fighter to decisively beat Hopkins since Jones

he does want the rematch. He wants it more than Pascal, but Pascal is fighting Cloud

Lost me as a fan because of his mental lapses and giving his belt to Pascal. Won me over again with his sportsmanship and performance Saturday. Love both fighters and hope Dawson is next in line for nxt great at LHW behind Hopkins and Jones. Erdei too if anyone considers him great but I don't know much about him.

After avenging Pascal, I'm not sure there's a clear path for him to even plateau, let alone move at an incline. Light heavyweight is just so barren. Lots of solid B-level guys but nobody you'd really call elite. Cleverly, Shumenov, Bellew, Chilemba, Cloud, Campillo...and beyond that tier Gutknecht, Sukhotsky, Braehmer...then, Grachev?

Of course, Kessler's efficacy moving up remains to be seen. :think

I mean, is there even a clear #3 behind Dawson and Pascal? Cloud by default, as unbeaten (but flawed and overly power-reliant) titlist?

It may boil down to needing Ward to move up for Dawson to maintain his run of elite challenges. That, or make the leap up to Cruiserweight. :scaredas:

Campillo, Pascal II assuming he beats Cloud, .....Cleverly maybe, then thats it. Doubt Erdei is still around by then too plus he's past prime. He would need Ward assuming he beats Bute. Both would be needing to meet up in the same division eventually I agree with that.

Oh, I don't think there's any question he'll have to tap into the 168-pound guys. After Pascal and perhaps Cloud if he can redeem himself, there's not much money in the division. I really hope he won't go up to CW, because I doubt he'd have any sustained success there.

There will be no demand for a Campillo fight. He doesn't have a belt or name recognition. It's Pascal II and Cloud, then hope Bute an Ward come up, or go to Cruiser and dominate there as I see him as much more talented than anyone at that weight.

I know I just think he deserves it more than Cloud because of their fight together. Would also love to see their styles against each other as I think that would be a harder fight than Cloud. Dawson is too quick for Cloud but the same can be said for anyone else at his division.

Me too. I see him getting knocked out (after becoming a "deer in the headlights" the first time he feels big-man power) by a much, much, much, much lesser p4p fighter who's simply too big and strong - ie a Lebedev, Hernandez or Huck.

Honestly I don't know why he gets so much criticism, the tools and talent are there...I think people get upset that he doesn't have a crowd pleasing style UNLESS you're into technical bouts.

It's funny because neither does Hopkins (in fact his style is even worse to watch) yet B-Hop was everyone's sentimental favorite throughout the rivalry. Even before the TKO/NC weirdness.
