Chad Dawson Is A Box Office Bust

He's just in a very weak division when it comes to box office attractions!

 

Chad ``Fragile Chin`` Dawson will be exposed in 2010 against Jean Pascal. But then again...He might run away from this fight...

 

Dawson doesn't sell himself. I've seen absolutely nothing about this fight. No fight poster, no interviews, no training videos, no thing. I've seen ONE interview with johnson.

Whoever booked Chad in a 16,000-seat arena -- it doesn't matter if it was on the site of his own freaking house -- is an idiot. That is a sure-fire failure waiting to happen.

The guy was struggling to draw like 2,000 in the Tarver fights. Now he's fighting ANOTHER 40 year old and you put him in a 16,000-seat joint?



So many people want to build Chad up, but he's just not a compelling fighter. He's talented, good frame, lots of speed but his fights just aren't that great and he's fighting geriatrics.

Floyd's fights suck, but at least he and the Mayweather crew can talk enough sh*t to get fools to part with their money. Chad isn't that kind of guy, so it's just not really easy to get pumped up for his fights.

If people want to get excited about black fighters, I would suggest Paul Williams and Jean Pascal. Neither is a perfect fighter, or has a perfect record, but they come to fight and they take on all challengers. Pascal took on a guy Dawson ran from and Williams is moving up to fight the MW champ.

That's a lot different than PBF fighting smurfs or Dawson fighting the elderly.

I'm a huge Pascal fan after the Froch and Diacanu brawls. He really lays it out there, and has the heart and the guts I admire in fighters.

 

Adamek a good ****ing fighter...thats a huge victory...right now nobody can **** with him at cruiser...The fight could be at CW and Chad still get the W ....Tarver USED to be a good boxer too..never realy power ful but he did know how to box...When Chad fought him he wasn't anything like he was 6 years prior but he was still a top 10 lhw...matter of fact ery 1 u juss mentioned at the time was top 7 when Chad fought them....

I like Adamek, he's been great at CW, but he was a little weight drained and he's the man in a division that is very weak. Also factor in that he was outboxed by Steve Cunningham and would've lost but for the KD's.

I don't like Tarver, to me he's just a decent fighter with quite a big name...a la Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti (RIP).

Johnson looks better now than he ever has but he's still not a top level
fighter, and Dawson really struggled to win that fight.

Not really his fault he's fighting in a weak division, and I feel for him that he can't get a fight with B-Hop to put his name out their and rule 175. But ultimately he's achieved nothing that puts him in a P4P top 10, despite the fact that he's clearly quite talented.

How can he be ranked so much over the Klits, Haye, Kessler, Bute, Pavlik, Abraham, Bradley, Guzman, Soto, Chris John. Is it because he's uneaten and American?? Only Bradley from that list is.

Price could be too much, Huge 16k arena?!?!?, Waited for too long before HE HAD TO REMATCH!!!, Gary Shaw looks like ****** and definitely acts like one!!!
But, Chad is not a big draw even in his own town?!?!? That's shows how much he sucks!!! (adn Connecticut prolly sucks too!!!)
On the other hand Glen Johnson would fill up the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL!!!
I'm sure The Road Warrior gonna whoop that ass and it will be ovah for Dawson!!!
