And I'm not suggesting for a second that we should all be sycophantic and gushing because Ice comes to our forum, but that did read quite insultingly and I appreciate you may have felt the same about my post but there was nothing in it as I said.

I think at the very least Chad is emotionally stunted although it wouldn't surprise me if he had a mild form of Asperger's.
It's a shame, because I think he wastes a wonderful talent, and I think with a different outlook on life,Chad could've been one of the most dominant and respected champs of this generation.
And when he got back with John I thought he might be on the road to making a late push for these type of accolades.

  3. Lost all respect when he drained himself to get knocked out by Ward.

Maybe his 'strength' coach told him it was doable?

Bad decision, but someone offered him money for the fight, right?

as far as the gaining of weight goes...I obviously asked about that LOL because heres the thing: In the beginning of camp the strength coach told me this camp would be great because Chad held onto his strength from the previous camp because we started so soon after the previous fight...I asked him when would he start building Chad up like he usually does before fights and he told me he wasnt going to have to do that this time. Five weeks later, though, when Chad was still at 184 I asked him about that and he got upset and said that he didnt say Chad wouldnt have to be built up a little bit, "just not as much as before"...so basically his gaining weight WAS BY DESIGN...it was the strength coach "building him up"...(one of the guys on the team said he was giving him creatine!!!!)...the other thing I feel I need to point out to you guys is this: My reason for even commenting on the matter is based solely on Chad daring to go on the internet and trying to actually say that I had trouble training and teaching a guy "at his level, now that he was a big time champion and all"...yet when we beat Hopkins my work was great enough that he signed a photo to me after the fight calling me "the best trainer in the game right now"...so u know what I had trouble dealing with really? A world class fighter in the BIGGEST FIGHT OF HIS LIFE going to camp with his family! We were out in Vegas at HIS HOUSE, with his family there...Ive been with greater fighters like Jones and Toney (and guys Hasim Rahman, Pazienza, Clay-Bey, etc) and THEY DIDNT GO TO CAMP WITH THEIR FAMILIES...how this guy thought he could train for ANDRE WARD while staying at his new house in Vegas with his family, his kids, etc staying with him (this is no secret either, his own brother was interviewed online before the fight saying the same thing)...you live and learn, though, I am sure he will change that strategy in the future...and I wont put up with it anymore in the future with other fighters...as I told the strength coach, and will tell any fighters, "Realize that what YOU do now is going to reflect on me after the fight as the trainer." Its a business..and guys like this make it that way. The chip away at u rlove for the game. PS: With all due respect to Eddie, I KNOW FOR A FACT that they tried to get another trainer to work with Chad but he said NO so they called Eddie. I like Eddie, we're friends, but he KNOWS what he is dealing with of course.

You have nothing to explain yourself for John.We all know what time it is.
I suspect this guy of Chad's is so afraid of losing his position that he has to just go with the flow.
I asked earlier but did you have an uneasy feeling as you headed to the ring?

And I suspect Eddie will be regretting this move in 18 months time John.
You really are well rid.You got him through his most famous victory and history will show that you probably managed that in spite of Chad's problems.

Well, u always hope for the best...you hope you aren't seeing what ur actually seeing...you hope ur being paranoid...but for me? The moment I knew it was trouble was in the ring right before the fight while Nick Cannon was doing introductions I said something to Chad and he looked right through me, like he didn't even hear me. That moment right there wasn't a good one. And then when he got hit in the third and was dropped? I KNEW then it was big trouble...Andre is a TOP CLASS SUPER FIGHTER but hes not a puncher...and Chad's taken shots from hitters like Tarver and Johnson at 175 without going down. Once I saw his legs react like that I knew my fars were confirmed about the weight...from that moment on it was desperation. I knew from that moment that simple instrcutions in the corner werent going to help him, he was not going to be able to hear them AND carry them out. I needed to try and tap into his emotions, I felt it was the only way. I actually wanted to address this because after the fight I saw a few arm chair QB's saying how I wasnt giving him specific technical instructions and all of that but they werent there for the camp or in the corner for the fight. Part of being a trainer is knowing when to say what and when to say something else. I could have given Chas the greatest technical advice ever but it wouldnt have heped him, it would have only been to make myself sound like a smart guy in the corner (lots of trainers do that very thing!)...I needed to HELP HIM the best way I felt was needed...but between Andre's skills and Chad's weakness mentally and physically because of the weight loss it was too much to overcome...
