I don't know if he left on good terms.

I think Mayweather Snr was the one who got them together, and Mayweather Snr left Chad saying he was "a ******".

Regardless, him switching trainer ever so often just hints there are interior troubles, most likely with himself.

I'm not of the opinion that a trainer MAKES the fighter, if anything it is the reverse. I think Chad can be successful with any trainer because he is that good.

That being said, I think he is mentally unfocused sometimes and that might be linked to his ADD.

Eddie Mustafa has all his fighters in superb conditioning, he has a notorious reputation at Johnny Toccos for drilling his fighters to DIG DEEP.

Thats why you very often see his fighters turn it up in the later rounds.

I think he is just a shitty character full stop. No trainer will ever be good enough for Chad, I mean what exactly did Ice do wrong to be treated like that?

Have a little respect and give the man a call or even return he texts or whatever!

It was Chad who got knocked out in sparring and it was Chad who said he could make 168lbs then Chad who tried to back out and said he wanted a catch weight. The Chad who gave up during the fight vs Ward.

It was all for the taking and he folded.

Thanks Dino, but my excursion budget is going on a trip down to London for Burns-Vasquez.

I missed Ray's visit to Glasgow last time due to circumstances way beyond my control.
Along with U2 tickets that were already paid for and I wasn't even able to sell them.
If Ray comes up here though,I'm in.:good

    EDIT
Given that there's not much to trouble him at 175,I think it'll be a while before Eddie cops his wrath again.

Watch Ice in the corner before the ninth(I think)
It's one of the most memorable moments ever from a corner/trainer for me.
And funny how things were great after he beat Bernard.:think

I came to like Chad, and I never ever questioned his ability, but I'm done with him now.
    I hope he knows he's a fan down now!:bart

Chad Dawson has the talent and imo Freddie Roach would turn him into an excellent fighter .

I'm fairly confident that there's a good reason he hasn't been with Fred already.
And I suspect it's got nothing to do with California.

Chad made a few snide remarks about John being in a bad situation, because he's (Chad) is at the top of his game and having fought some of the greatest fighters.

Bull****! John guided him to his most significant victory, and it's his ****ing laziness in the ring that holds him back.

And Ice had the good grace to say that EMM was as good a choice as anyone.

Integrity. You can't teach that Chad and John has it in spades.
Ice is well shot of him.

He's been a disappointment. He has/had excellent skills, but seems to lack the innards to go along with them.

    Hell.

If I was Sculley, I'd of chucked Dawson. Air the dirty washing publicly. I'd of told the press that Chad was a mental midget. He didn't have the bollox to walk through hell and back to become the best he could be. Question his man hood, his determination and his desire.

Then again, from day one of camp I'd tell him if he'd show less than what I thought he was capable of, he'd be out on his arse. Don't waste my time, I won't waste yours. Follow that rule, and we have a great chance at being successful.
