Lost in the Taylor/Pavlik fight this weekend was another showcase for Chad Dawson, who fought another overmatched guy -- and this one on short notice -- but obviously can't be blamed for that.

Dawson looked the best he has yet, not losing concentration on defense and pressuring his opponent without ever allowing him into the fight.

And physically he looks huge. He was much stronger, as evidenced by how easily and forcefully he spun Mendoza on several occasions.

I really wish he'd fight Glen Johnson, the one guy who seems willing to take him on, because I just don't see Tarver or Hopkins happening.

Dawson's right hook to the body is now one of the fastest and sharpest punches in the sport.

Sure he looked great, he had a punching bag in front of him.Lets see him look great against Johnson or Woods.Yeah, the win over Adameck was decent, but the Pole was rather easy to hit, and one dimensional. But before that win and ever since Chads been cherry picking unashamedly.

He did look really good, albeit against a C class opponent.

I saw the fight and what struck me was that Dawson's movement is very fast. Mendoza barely layed a finger on him in the whole fight.

Woods? Clinton has less chance of beating him than Adamek did.

I agree that Johnson would be a very tough test. For whatever reason, Dawson's people seem not to want that fight, either.

I'd say his win over Adamek was better than decent; he was the underdog and was taking on a very tough customer. The Ruiz fight was his first defense, so no big deal, and Mendoza was a fill-in. A lot of people viewed Diaconu as a dangerous opponent, and it wasn't Chad who pulled out.

He's also tried to get Tarver on repeated occasions. Dawson can't force anyone to fight him.

    Edited for a bad typo.

Tarver would be a worthless fight at this point, Tarver is done and Danny Green will easily take care of him.

However, Johnson is still relatively fresh and presents very effective pressure and just on the styles, it would be impressive if Chad won by a wide margin, because Johnson hasn't really been shut out by any top fighter in years.

Woods is just to pick up another belt.

I want to see Dawson/Erdei, in my opinion, they are the best in the division. Erdei is not very entertaining, but he's skilled and effective and would be a challenge to Dawson, even though I'd be very confident Dawson would rise to the occassion and pull the clear victory.
