He will give Calzaghe a good tough fight for him (Calzaghe) to be remembered by but he will not beat him. Theres one obstacle that Dawson cant ever overcome *points to chin*. He has great offensive skills but hes not the fastest lhw ever.

Whenever I think of Chad Dawson I think of a fighter being dropped by 1 straight shot vs Adamek. I think of a fighter being wobbled on several occasions by a tough but limited smaller fighter in Glen Johnson.

I just think the fight will turn out being very tough for Calzaghe but not insurmountable. Calzaghe will find a way to win because Dawson lacks the greatness that great fighters have to not be discouraged with any trouble. Just how I see it..:deal

A fighter at Dawson stage of his career can't be great yet anyway...

But Calzaghe better not see this as a going away fight for him in his hometown. If he does thatll motivate Dawson to prove everyone wrong and to be the spoiler. Dawson has to be as confidant as he'll ever be at this point

Chad reminds me alot of Tito. Not in therms of skills, style or talent but in the sense that Chad is willing to engage and willing to take risk to enterain and gamble on his offense.

I also see that when Tito and Chad get KD.....they get up! THeir CHins are not the best, but their will and determination push them or "will" them to get up and win.

Chad isn't great yet.....but he has everything with regards to the tools, skills and talent that a future Great needs. If he were to fight Joe I feel the physical demensions...speed, style and youth will hand Joe his first loss and fist REAL GREAT TEST!....We'll Bhop was his first IMO.

A win over a Great like Joe C will cement his greatness and begin a new chapter for CHad. Of course you can never count Joe out, but CHad winning is how I see it.

imo Tito had a better chin but your right about the will.. perhaps im underestimating Dawson.. I will have to review some of his fights. The fact that Dawson is also a southpaw may give Calzaghe problems he has never had before

Tito may have the better chin.....but it can't be by that much. Tito has been floored MANY times....he just has great recoup abilities that allows him to clear the cobwebs and inflict some good ol "GET BACK" to his opponents which is what I see in Chad....the only time he's REALLY been rocked was in there with Glenn....of course glenn isn't the hardest of punchers but he is soild and strong....he has some pop that is for sure. THe southpaw stance for CHad is also something I completely forgot about but a major factor. The fight is hard to call but I'm leaning towards Chad!

Same here, but if the fight is in Wales, and it is Joe C's last fight, then there can be no doubt that every advantage on the cards will be stacked in Calzaghe's favour. That might be too much pressure on Dawson to fight the perfect fight.

Which is why I think Calzaghe's team won't fight Dawson in the USA.

Dawson would have KO'd RJJ on saturday, and I doubt he would have been on his ass.

You're probably right....but I think Joe has done much to deserve a hometown fight. And CHad being the young promising champion the experience fighting a ATG like Joe in his back yard will be instrumental in building his own legacy and getting him the kind of experience necessary to make him something special.....THis is of course if "CHAD" is really what many are claiming him to be.....there are many un answared questions regarding Chad and how good he really is. On the surface he looks like what made Gamboa so popular with so much hype...but like Gamboa...there are many unanswared questions left for Chad to answer by what he does and whom he does it against. The fight should be where ever Joe wants it! Chad will have to deal with whatever sitation Joe creates......A true champion will overcome if its his time.

If Dawson was'nt American no one would care about the fight, because he is American he gets hyped like Lacy and Pavlik, when Dawson looses he will just be another bum HBO chews up and spits out.

Dawson fights on Showtime, not HBO. Lacy was a Showtime fighter as well. People lose in this sport, it happens. There's no need to label someone asa bum just because they lose. Pavlik and Lacy only have one loss a piece, and it's not like they lost to bad fighters. Dawson is undefeated, has already won 2 titles and is a very talented fighter. However, many Euro posters seem to have a chip on their shoulder and are all too ready to write off every American fighter no matter how talented they are.
