Chad Dawson on HBO promo for Hopkins/Dawson II:

It's funny how everyone likes Taylor because 'he's a nice guy' I mean if he was a nice guy and on top then he'd have lots of haters like Pacquiao and Wlad who are also nice guys but get a lot of ****, but because Taylor got somehwhat exposed as a HBO agenda machine hypejob (not to deny his qualities as a fighter) now everyone loves him because he's 'that' fighter trying to make a comeback who was a 'nice guy'

 

The Taylor fights were awful. They kept saying how Taylor is winning the rounds because he was more active. :dead

 

Or that Taylor deserved to win because he made the faster start in the first 4 or so rounds :roll:

 

Dam look at the combos @ 4:28 .. I expect Hopkins will get some of the same

 

Intresting take on the fight...I can understand how you would see that way since that's basically what happened. The irony in this (and I'm not sure how ironic it is) Pascal has about half the boxing ability and skill that Dawson posesses. :think

It seemed as if he wanted to wait until the last round to turn it on...lol he almost knocked Jean out on queue. :blood

Seemed like he froze. Seemed to me like Dawson shut down. I think it was round 7 when Pascal started slowing down and Dawson woke up.

 

Dawson is boring and Flopkins is EXTREMELY boring, so it is a hard fight to promote. I dosent help with Flopkins non likeable personality, his faking and crying. A granddaddy running around with a black dirt bag on his head :rofl

A wasted huge talent in Dawson against the most overrated boxer of all time.

 

He's so inconsistant it drives me nuts, I'm not taking personally but to see such a talented and gifted fighter just go into these moments of pure discontent. He goes through these brain farts and it becomes hard to defend the guy when comparing him to a fighter like Pascal. I've been in boxing a longtime and there is no thin line when comparing certain fighters but it is clear Jean has the mental fortitude and focus to take his god given physical traits and develop them to the point where he can claim he has been a champion. Then you look at a fighter like Chad and think to yourself what is it that this guy needs to keep him motivated, focused and consistantly confident. The sky is the limit whith Chad but I can completely empathize with those that don't hold him with high regard, though this feeling you have about him does not take away the fact that he has one of the purest abilities in the fight game today.

 

The only question now is does the fire still burn inside of Chad to get the job done ?

 

I'm just telling it like it is. And yes, Dawson has better skills but he isn't as explosive and awkward as Pascal is. I just don't see how everyone keeps saying he was gonna knock Pascal out, when the only good shot that caught Pascal's attention was the right hook counter that he caught him with but he never hurt him to the point where he was gonna go down. Pascal just got tired, his stamina is bad. He reminds of another Jermaine Taylor but with more durability.

 

Zab Judah did too. But we seen what happened when he started stepping up in competition.

 

He wasn't going to KO Pacal, that's just something his fanboys tell themselves so they can feel better about the fact Jean Pascal outworked Dawson and wobbled him badly.

 

Not all you need in boxing, although I believe he has what it takes to beat Hopkins in the rematch and will. Fight will probably be ugly, but it seems like a pretty even split on who ESB favors to win... Looking forward to it.
