Depends how Dawson fights, if he presses the action it'll get slowed down by Hopkins trying to get one shot in then clinching but if Dawson stays on the outside trying to box and move then he can force Hopkins into a fight.
If Dawson forces Hopkins to fight I really don't think he will be able to keep up with him ..Hopkins best chance is to punch and grab but I hope im wrong ..
Bernard will never get outclassed /fact But i could see Dawson causing him some problems with his youth, but if Chad doesn't gets a new fighting mentality and is the same old Dawson, then Bhop will school him at some moments in some rounds, which i predict will determine the outcome. I think Dawson will take some close rounds, Bernard too, but he will also have the clearer rounds.. if you see where i'm getting at
I agree I was there and i am from Montreal... I guess that makes me a Pascal fanboy? WHat I saw there (and the friends that were with me) is a guy (Pascal) that didn't look like he was gonna finish the fight on his feet... This takes nothing away from him as he deserved to win on points no doubt.
Well he proved he can deal with a great volume puncher and will still landing more accurate punches on him and mananged to neutralize his punchout put when he fought Joe Calzaghe. Calzaghe IMO is better than Dawson. He's a better boxer in the center of the ring, his workrate destroys Dawsons workrate and he's not only stronger mentally but he can adapt more.
Well I already answered to him but just ask yourself this. If Hopkins can deal with Joe Calzaghe and his punchout put and great boxing ability, why can't he deal with Dawson?
Hopkins couldn't do anything in the first fight. He was fighting backing up the whole time. Had the fight continued Dawson would have won. If Hopkins tried to pressure he will get counted, so he emulated what Pascal did. Which was fight off a distance, stay away from Dawson's right jab, and force him to use his left hand. But all that does is allow Dawson to become the aggressor, which is why Dawson had such a higher punch output in the first fight. Hopkins was limited to what he can do, except try to grind it out to a decision.
Contender for fight of the year already written all over it ..These 2 really want to punch each other in the face !
