welp, there goes his chances at reviving his career. He's about to be run over by the Hopkins Doom Walker.
He's toast. That's it. If he didn't care before, staying at home instead of going that extra mile to escape distractions and adapt to your supposed mentor shows he doesn't have it in him to beat Hopkins.
This is interesting. I was picking a motivated Dawson to win this, but now... sounds like he has a bad attitude
Even if he was with Steward, he's way too passive to beat Hopkins. To beat Hopkins, you gotta keep him busy, not only with jabs though, which is Dawson's main punch. And no way in hell is Dawson gonna beat Hopkins by outsmarting him.
Hate to say it, but some trainers are not a good fit for fighters. Jermaine Taylor went downhill with Steward. Chad also went downhill. Steward is great at training heavies. Stewards approach hasn't exactly worked at MW and SMW.
I disagree. How did he go downhill? I mean, he had one fight with him, which he won. It was a new trainer/fighter relationship against a solid former champ. I wouldn't say we could really tell from that, honestly. I think Steward is actually perfect for Dawson. Stylistically speaking, he's exactly what Steward works best with. A long, tall, outside fighter. Certainly his strong suit, you know?
