Didn't you guarantee that Vitali would duck out of the Peter fight on an 'injury?'

And didn't you guarantee that Peter would KO him ?

And I think you guaranteed (or maybe only predicted) that BHop would beat Calzaghe.

It seemed to me that you were suggesting Tarver was 25 years older than Dawson when they fought, that's all. I suggest you grow the **** up, it's not like I jumped on you for it or anything I just posted a :patsch to suggest you'd made a mathematical error so calm down.

Amazing how Calzaghe is on a pensioners tour and is afraid to fight the best. Yet some are already saying he's ducking a rematch with Hopkins. A fight he was derided for making in the first place. Now that Hopkins beats the biggest star in American boxing 6 months after Calzaghe beat him, apparently it's a fluke that Calzaghe won the fight and he'd "certainly" not beat Hopkins in a rematch.

    1. No I didn't, I suggested that it might happen but I didn't guarantee it.

    2. No I most certainly didn't, I never suggested that Peter would win.

    3. Yes I did say Hopkins would beat Calslappy, and he did, to anyone who has a damn clue how to score a fight.

No offense intended, drvooh. As I was saying; I think you're being slightly melodramatic about some of this. The "haters" don't exist in the true argument.

My apologies for overstating the case regarding points 1 and 2.

In regard to point 3, given that Bernard did practically nothing after round four and lost rounds 5 -12 inclusive, it's difficult to see how he could have won it.

He resorted to throwing one punch and grabbing, a la Ruiz or Hatton (maybe we'll get a display of that later tonight), and had to resort to serious shennigans to buy resting time, and keep from getting stopped.

He made Joe look less than stellar as he came not to fight but to survive.

The two American judges who could actually see, scored it 9-3 and 8-4 in Joe's favour.

I split the first four round two apiece. i can see giving Bernard three or even all four of the first four.

After that, he won no rounds.

He wrestled, clowned, faked injury and hung on for dear life for that last bell.

He was so knackered that he went THREE DIFFERENT TIMES to the wrong corner when the bell sounded.

    The fight wasn't even close.

What I would like to know is if Calzaghe can be criticized for fighting a 39 year old, and a 43 year old, why have not the Calzaghe haters jumped on a 26? year old Dawson for fighting a 39 and 40 year old??
Are you gonna tell me that if Joe did that at 26, he wouldn't have caught hell for that by these haters??

How is this even worthy of debate...you guys are actually trying arguing that Joe C. doesn't fight old guys...???

...or you are arguing that it's not his fault...???

If he picks Dawson next, that will do something to silence his critics.

No, we are arguing that it's a huge double standard to say Calzaghe fight sold men but no one mentions Dawson fighting old men. The bare facts are there to see by all. Why bury your head in the sand.

For the record, i'd love to see Calzaghe v Dawson. If he were to win it would be an automatic top 3 win on his resume and pending on the manner of victory it could go in at no1. But it's up to Dawson and not Calzaghe to make this fight. Just as everyone currently hounds Calzaghe for not fightign prime Jones and Hopkins in the states, it's now up to Dawson to travel to Wales and take a pacut to force Calzaghe into a fight.

There's no head buried in the sand. This is a fight the fans want, and boxing needs.

Joe expects the old greats to fight him, now it's his turn to be the "somewhat old" guy, fighting the number 1 up and comer.

If Joe doesn't want it, I have no problem with him retiring. He will however look like a pus if he fights somebody else...he already used his past prime legend card.
