And yet people are saying Joe Calzaghe has to face him.
I watched the dawson v johnson fight and johnson looked very old and still outboxed dawson.
And as for Tarver well he was dreadful and only looked good against clinton woods who lets face it isnt a top world class fighter.
So why does Dawson deserve a chance???
Watching Dawson convinced me that Calzaghe would pummel his face to a pulp, one thing Dawson can do that Lacy couldnt he can throw a combination.
But he would need far more than he can offer in a fight with Joe.
I find it hilarious that some americans say why should Jones jr and Hopkins have fought Joe Calzaghe in the 90s when he hadnt earned a shot at them etc
Well if thats the case let Dawson prove his worth before he goes demanding a fight with Joe.
The good thing for me is that Joe Calzaghe looks like he will fight on.

Listen if he had fought johnson and beat him you would be saying johnson was overrated or old!
Joe cant win with you, plus Joe has been plagued by injuries, I would love to see some of the other top fighters with the hand problems Joes had through his career not only box but remain undefeated.
A very old Johnson outboxed Dawson, thats what you should be thinking about.
Dawson isnt fit to lace Calzaghes gloves

Yeah, most people thought Dawson lost against Johnson.

There was a poll on fightnews afterwards and about 2/3 picked Johnson. Johnson almost got 70 %.

Johnson didn't outbox Chad. He was very active, applied a lot of pressure, and landed some good shots. That's not outboxing. He was outboxed and lost a UD,116-112 on all 3 cards. This is the same Johnson that Calzaghe ducked out on something like 2 or 3 times.

And can I just say that I respect Johnson immensly he is a good guy and a very good boxer who was stiched up against dawson.
But how many times has that happened when a fighter with a higher profile gets preferential treatment
    De la hoya v sturm
    johnson v dawson
    Both stitch ups

LMAO, your right. They will ***** that Calzaghe needs to fight Johnson. Then when Calzaghe beats him, they would claim he was old.

Unfortunately I agree Chad is not on Joe's level. But he can punch and has solid technical skills. If Joe wants to fight again that who he should fight.

He is not busy enough to beat Joe.

The term is very subjective. Personally, I thought Dawson clearly won at least 7 rounds, you could make a case for 8. This would mean that Dawson clearly won the fight. Johnson simply caused more damage in the 4 or 5 rounds he lost, that doesn't erase the 7 rounds that he clearly lost.
