You don't think Wlad Klitschko would beat Dawson?

The man is not the bet fighter from 175 and below. Absurd. But I can't believe the hate he gets based on one hard fought win over Johnson. BTW, I had Chad winning that. Johnson planting a big one on him in the 10th dosen't mean he won. The man wanted to unify the WBC and IBF, which is rare enough these days, yet now all of a sudden, because he wants to fight a fellow champ, he's ducking? CD and AD have plenty of time to fight each other. But Tarver won't be around for that much longer. Dawson is taking the correct fight at this stage of his career.

How is it absurd to believe that he could beat Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins?

It is only absurd if one has their head rammed all the way up one of those 2 fighter's rear ends.

Actually I believe he beats both Calzaghe and Hopkins at this stage. It's the big hitters that will give test to your claim of Dawson being the best. Johnson and Adamek already gave him trouble. Tarver's up next which will be a huge test for him. Then after that he'll be up against the likes of Abraham, Pavlik, Bute, Kessler, Froch, Taylor etc etc. Maybe he can beat them all but for you to say with 100% convixtion that he is indeed the best fighter from 175 below based on wins over Adamek and Johnson, that's absurd.

He is the best at present, meaning from the talent I see of him in the ring, he could beat them all.

He is not the most proven of them all, though his resume is very good.

I agree with your point, besides Calzaghe, he woul only struggle with the big hitters. Tarver will be a big test, and Pavlik would be a very big test.

Froch, however, is rubbish, and would be annihilated.

Kessler and Bute are good fighters but lack the KO power needed to exploit Dawson's chin, and would both be outboxed without much trouble IMO.
