Have you seen Kessler's fight against Thysse?

IT was stopped in the 11th, but Thysse was never wobbled whatsoever. He got tagged all night but wasn't bleeding, hurt or anything. The Lucas fight isn't a good example of Kessler being a good finisher either.

    Johnson should of won.
Considering all of the pre-fight hype regarding how great Dawson is --- I was not impressed. Definately has alot to learn. Didnt look like championship material.

Unfortunately I haven't, but I'll take your word for it...which would only further point to the lack of Kessler's killer instinct.

How's everything been, btw? I haven't seen ya around in a good ol' while. :good

Exactly, a guy that Green KO'd in 5 or something. Kessler isn't good at applying pressure. If he can't outbox someone, he is pretty much f*cked.

Dawson is all wrong for kess. Not a knock on Kess as a fighter, he is just slightly one dimensional, and will have trouble against guys who are really top level boxers and can beat him from the outside.

All has been well. Yeah, I haven't kept up to date with much boxing lately, just been watching the big fights.

Going to Japan for a while in under 3 months. Lets hope the boxing coverage over there is better than it is in Oz.

Until the Calzaghe fight, I thought Dawson was one of the only guys around the divisions they're in that would beat him on the outside.

Dawson beats him with speed, movement, and the jab, the later two are areas where Kessler is so used to being more dominant in. When he comes against a guy that betters him in those areas, he gets his dick caught in his zipper.

    Dawson UD.

Yes, because Chad's shown he handles getting hit much better than anyone else Kessler's fought and gets hit less than all of them. It's like he got the Jake Lamotta Chin Implant set, that one. His Sweet Pea like skills at not getting hit are sublime, as well.

Glen Johnson has fought 3000 rounds against Clinton Woods and never came close to stopping him, yet had Chad on ***** street multiple times. Johnson deserves his props, but c'mon- the man's nearly old enough to be Chad's dad.

Over the top hyperbole aside, I think Dawson will improve and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect it, but I've got to see it actually happen first before I gameplan that into what a matchup with Kessler might look like from there on. To count chickens before they hatch and give him the benefit of that now isn't fair; my 2 cents just happens to be if the same Dawson steps into the ring against Kessler that did against Johnson, he will get stopped.

Dawson just didn't look right against Johnson at all, nothing looked right. His jab was off, he was sloppy, his movement was off, everything. When he fought Gardner, Adamek, Ruiz and Mendoza, his jab was lethal weapon and his timing was on par. You can make a case for the reason being is that Johnson was the first guy to pressure him. He will learn from this experience and become a better fighter in the future becuase he knows how to react to being in a high momentum fight.

I also don't understand why guys are still bitching about the decision. No one can actually tell me that Johnson won the fight decisively, which is what you would have to do when you are fighting a champion for his title. The fight was close and i had it 115-113 in favor of Dawson unbiasedly. He out landed Johnson and controlled the tempo. Other than rounds 3 and 10, Dawson was putting rounds in the bank.
