Diaconu seriously leaves himself open being stationary with his foot movement. A guy can charge in and knock his ass out, thats how open he leaves himself. I think Dawson knows what he needs to do to beat this guy.

I think thats Dawson biggest flaw - concentration. With his style he has to really be switched on 100% of the time and then he is very difficult to beat. So whilst he would be a favourite, he is not certain bet to win this fight.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Dawson will be a more confident fighter after going through the extreme discomfort of having to fight Glen Johnson. A fight like that, if looked at from a positive point of view, can be a real learning experience.

Let's not forget the fact that Diaconu just really isn't that good either. I know I sound like a broken record with this but if I was a promoter and I handed my fighter, supposedly a top contender, a title shot in his home country against a B/C-level guy I'm expecting a lot more than a 2-point victory.

Yep, close win, controversial win or whatever you call it, it was a great, real learning experience. I expected Dawson to fade and Glen to test his chin bad and go through hell if Johnson can make it a fight, but it was absolutely a positive performance for Chad since he was still throwing in the 12th, he took some punches but survived and fought back bravely and put on a great fight.

I just don't see Diaconu pulling it off - in fact, I don't see him winning a round at this stage... Dawson's defense is not perfect, and the puncher's chance is always a chance, but there's a huge difference in skill level, and on paper, this should be a very one-sided fight.

I hope Tarver fights Zsolt now.
