Dawson would have a great shot at beating Calzaghe, he's comfortable facing other southpaws and is at this stage a little faster than Joe, and significantly taller.

I call this fight something like 60-40 for Joe, but of course, Calzaghe's my current favourite fighter. Dawson's also in my top 5, I think it goes to the cards but I just feel that Dawson can be swarmed and bullied.

Though... Joe popping in and out after flurries leaves him open for a Dawson counter everytime, they may or not come depending on how tentative he becomes against a guy who will swarm him and can match him for speed.

Joe's footspeed is superior, but not handspeed, the footspeed counts for a whole lot in this affair.

I'll say Calzaghe UD 115-112, a flash KD at somepoint in catching Dawson awkward like Adamek did.

Don't think Calzaghe can put Dawson down, but he could very well win on points. This would be a very competetive bout, which Dawson would win, imo.

If Adamek and Harding can get a "flash" KD, then so can Calzaghe, I just leave it open as a possibility because he will be landing on Dawson, as shoulder roll western styles defences are vulnerable to those awkward shots.

Dawson decision win? I can certainly live with that.

Prime Calzaghe, before the hand problems, beats Dawson by stoppage however.

It's pretty damn close, just ask Axe. He won't agree with me on the prime Calzaghe thing because Dawson is his guy, but he will confirm that this version of Dawson is near to where it's going to be.

The guy's great as is. Great win for my man Joe if it happens.:good

I don't think it is, and Dawson is on my radar P4P. I think he will learn to put his punches together better. I think he will learn to fight on the inside better as well. He is close yes, but I still see him improving. I don't think he has peaked.

Yes Harding managed to get a flash KD, and fair enough, Joe could potentially land a stiff jab while Chad is off balance and make him touch down as well.

I'm saying I don't think he can put him on the seat of his pants and really buzz him like Adamek did. Dawson's chin is pretty decent imo, and Joe does not really possess one shot KO power (and definitely won't at 175).

And yea, Dawson has been a pro for 6 years and has trained under some of the world's greatest trainers, he's turning 25 soon and imo is about to enter his prime.
