Chad Dawson vs Andre ward is gonna be a hell of a fight...

I think this will be a tough fight. But I don't understand how people think Ward is going to get outboxed. As an ameteur he wasw the #1 kid in the country nearly the entire time. He won an olympic gold medal. And he didn't do it with raw punching power. That means he's a great boxer. Dawson is an excellent boxer in his own right, but I don't subscribe to the notion that Ward should be crapping his pants over Dawson's skills. He's been used to fighting top level competion since before he could shave. He should feel right at home imo.

Ward is just going to maul Dawson on the inside all night, where Dawson can't do anything but clinch, and take a wide decision.

Do you dumb****s ever think about styles when two fighters are matched up against each other or do you just think "oh gee golly 2 very well known fighters are fighting each other this is going to be a good fight!"

Ward and "exciting" don't co-exist.

I still don't get why people find hugging and then throwing a punch, or vice versa, throwing a punch, then hugging, exciting.

If there is hugging, forget exciting.

 

Just for the true lovers of the sweet science but that is not very common around this place. people like brawls and KOs.

 

More like a young version of an old Hopkins really. He doesn't stylistically resemble the young version of B-hop in the slightest.

 

Sweet science? Watch the Viloria vs.Omar Nino or even the Segura fight and compare tha one with Ward.

You can be sweet science AND exciting. Not sweet science and hugging.

and yes it will be exciting for those that understand boxing and appreciate technical ability....a couple of the most skilled dudes in the sport. been a longtime since 2 prime fighters with this much skill have gotten it on!



gotta say OP you crazy if you think Ward will win by KO. Dawson has a great chin he's taken punches from some huge punchers along the way. Ward on the other hand has been dropped by journeyman Boone and almost KTFO'd. Dawson definetly has the chin advantage, the power advantage and a slight handspeed advantage. Ward has footwork, ring IQ, adaptabilty, mental toughness, and infighting on him though. Dawson needs to double and triple the jab if he wants to win and keep Ward from working his way in, he's gotta make Ward respect his power early and throw his combos (some of the best in the game when he actually throws them) when Ward is trying to maul his way inside. My bet is Dawson succeeds at this for a few rounds and has a significant lead going into the mid rounds where Ward gets inside and frustrates Chad and starts to take over before sweeping the championship rounds and securing a close UD that the judges will proly score ridiculously wide in Wards favour since it's another hometown fight for Ward.
