At LHW, who you got and how? Can Dawsons high guard catch Fosters left from hell, or does his straight-ahead approach play right into Foster? :bbb
Foster KO His speed and timing ensure would ensure that he'd catch Dawson. And when he does, it's over.
Dawson isn't even prime yet. If that fight happened right now, Foster would stop him before the 8th or 9th.
I agree with you guys at this point in time. I'm really curious to see how Dawson fights on the 12th. He is usually pretty cautious (with the ko) and so I want to see what he does when/if he gets Johnson hurt
Oh ****, I voted for Dawson by KO by accident. I meant to put down Foster by KO. This is not a style that suits Chad well. The results on this one should be just as lopsided as the Pavlik vs Hagler thread, honestly. Young champion vs ATG at the weight? No contest. Give the kid a few years.
Exactly, this match up isn't fair for Dawson. No one would seriously pick Dawson, because he is no where near tested enough at this point. In a few years time this may be a very interesting hypothetical match up though.
I don't think he'll need to go for the KO to stop Johnson. His usual routine will be enough to get the job done. Dawson is highly motivated to impress and show he's the best in the division. He will dominate Johnson every minute of every round, Johnson will be tired and broken down, then the TKO should come.
Agreed, Johnson should come to him as well. All he will need to do is pick his shots... Johnson isn't a big light heavy, Dawson SHOULD be able to stop him with clean accurate punching.
Oh come on; this hypothetical matchup isn't nearly as lopsided as a Pavlik/Hagler matchup. I agree to give him a few years but his potential is fantastic (given he's already a great fighter)
While Dawson looks to be more polished and is more slick than Pavlik, his resume also blows chunks compared to Kelly's so I view that as essentially cancelling one another out as far as where they're at right now. In either case, it would still be picking potential over a proven ATG legacy. It's no less lopsided, particularly when you've got a guy with questionable punch resistance against one of the best punchers in that division's history. From a style basis, this doesn't look good for Dawson. At least for Pavlik-Hagler, Kelly's got a significant size and reach advantage, a good jab, excellent stamina, and the toughness to last against Marvin. Which isn't to take anything away from either Dawson or Pavlik, as I really like both fighters and their potential in the future- just that I really need to see how the next few years shape up for them. Dawson's chin is the main wild card I have with him. I have to see how it holds up against better competition before I can say Foster-Dawson is any less of a mismatch than Hagler-Pavlik.
allright :good I guess my point with my last post is that there is no way (imo) Pavlik ever beats Hagler. The granite-chinned Hagler can easily outbox Pavlik all day and all night long whereas in a few years people "just may" be picking Dawson over Foster; its not that ridiculous of a statement imo. Right now though, yes your right, picking Dawson over Foster would be nuts
Settle down :fire . Maybe after the 12th a few people will be changing their minds (doubtful, but ya never know)
