Lamotta was an atg and for the people that don't know he fought at lightheavyweight before. Chad Dawson is the most talented lightheavyweights of this era but his mental state has always been in question. I think this would be a great fight but the later rounds would be even more interesting down stretch. Lets say we make this fight 12 rounds, instead of the old fashion 15 that Lamotta used to fight, who do you guys think would take it?

Both of them were not the strongest mental fighters.... Lamotta was crazy... Dawson is lazy... I'm taking the ATG LaMotta

LaMotta fought at LHW at the end of his career when he was basically done. Dawson decision.

If lamotta trained and ate a healthy diet like athlete should his fat ass would've been a welter weight. He is only like 5'8, what is dawson 6'1 or 6'2

I don't think Chad would let Jake wail away on his ribcage. And he definitely wouldn't get into a slugfest he couldn't win.
Even though Dawson can be outboxed, Lamotta aint the guy to do it. Chad would find the distance and pepper the Raging Bull from the outside with 1-2s and the occasional bodywork he's adept at on the inside.

Lamotta aint getting KOd as Chad would get lazy at times, but if Lamotta didn't score a KO Dawson would pull out a 8-4 type decision.

    In before a rebuttal........

Lamotta is one of my AT favorite fighters.......

And I has a serious dislike for Dawson. I just don't see the Bull finding Dawson. He'd just outfox him.:think

LaMotta fought light heavywieghts throughout his career, not just when he was past his prime. He even knocked out Bob Satterfield who was a rated heavyweight.
LaMotta would have been way too busy for Dawson. Chad doesn't have anything Jake hadn't seen a hundred times before.
Jakes not a big puncher, and Dawson is defensive under pressure, so it would go the distance, Jake winning going away.

Lamotta was a much better boxer than he is generally given credit for, but probably less of a puncher.

Although he was short, he was very stocky in the upper body and fought as a LHW in the amateurs. Lamotta himself has stated that he would have fought at 168 if that division had existed at the time.

Slick boxers could give Lamotta trouble, and it's possible that Dawson could keep the fight on the outside and outscore Jake. When you think of the problems that Dawson had
with Johnson, I think Lamotta would put apply too much pressure and win a close decision.

Lamotta ,too much work rate ,and Dawson could not afford to fight in spurts against a guy like Lamotta ..

What a shame lamotta will go down in history as a bum brawler that got lucky against SRR once

He could fight. He should be in everyone's top 10 MW list somewhere
