Absolutely. It wouldn't be all that close. Joe never fought more talented athletes in their prime for good reason.

Kessler is conventional, but it's very effective at 168. I wouldn't say he was elite in a pfp sense, but few fighters are, but in 168 he is an elite fighter.

He's not as straight up as you say, but the other guy was wrong in the sense that you can't compare his style to Dawson's as it's like night and day.

However, Calzaghe is not conventional and is absolutely an elite fighter, in my opinion second only to Mayweather if you consider him an active fighter.

Although it's hard not to give PAC props, but if were talkin just skill...

So basically, you never seen either fighter in the ring.

To be classified as elite you have to fight someone. His biggest win is against ****ing black superman mundine. I agree with the rest of what you said. But again, 6'3 76 inch reach, south paw. Calzaghe hasnt fought a true lightheavyweight in his career.

Well considering that I've been surrounded by boxing my whole life, study and participate in the game for a good percentage of the day I trust my opinion more than I do yours though out of common courtesy and curiosity I would be more than willing to hear your stand on the hypothetical bout. Again the hall of famer gets his ass handed to him vs Dawson.

I think it could go either way, and that in time Dawson will be a complete fighter, but there are things that he needs to do better in the ring, some fundamental, and some things that are gained through experience, and I'm just not confident that he's at that level yet where he can beat Calzaghe even today.

Calzaghe can play keep away and tag, and when Calzaghe is playin keep away, Dawson has not perfected an aggressive style, and when Calzaghe is the aggressor, he's gonna get tagged occasionaly of course, but he has the ring smarts, and workrate to pull it off...

But that's just my opinion. Either way, it won't be a one sided wipe out, but a close and competitive fight, but still clear for Calzaghe...

Dawson is very good though and would beat Kessler.

So you really think Calzaghe is gonna get the **** beat outta him?

You're talkin about the same guy that beat Bernard who beat the **** outta Tarver who had a competitive fight with Dawson.

I mean, A+B does not equal C, but it's easy to see that Calzaghe is not just another run of the mill had a good record fighter, but an actual tallent that could fight.

Yes I got to admit it Joe is skilled and I watched him from early days he wouldave easily took olympic gold if everything didnt work against him, That why he fights with that angry edge but control in his fight, Btw when i first saw him fight he reminded me of a black fighter (btw i am black), and that kessler fight midway I have never seen so much elusive skill and intelligence it scary in one way because even though he is an animated fighter have you ever checked out that cold face, it gives you the shivers black beady eyes hunting down his pray, and nearly all his oponents wanted to take his head off, like kessler said in his corner "He is annoying"
remeber the youth at school who you just couldnt beat no matter how hard you tried, sme people just have talent and most be born with it its instinct and intelligence mixed together i think

There's no doubt in my mind that joe is an extreme talent capable of utilizing his God given talents to its fullest potential, he's also a student of the game which only adds to the allure. Like I mentioned earlier it took me 2yrs to come to this conclusion but adding togehter all the factors this is what I formulated.
