Dawson by close UD. I do like the idea of him moving down to 168, although i don't think it will happen. It would bolster an already deep division in the coming years.

I think that both camps have good arguments in analysing that dream fight. It's true, even if he's not my favorite individual, that Dawson has one of the best tool box in the ring right now. It's also right to say he fought boxers close from reteirement in the last years instead of live young prospects. A lot of us saw the first Johnson fight with Dawson in the losing corner. All this to remind you that prior to the second Andrade fight, Bute sparred for a month or so with Johnson and he gave him hell. Even if I give Dawson a slight edge for the speed of his hands and his reach, remind me if he ever faced someone with the ring movement and intelligence that Bute brings. Not to mention his devastating shot to the liver....and the new short left hook to the chin, wow! ask Andrade.

Anyway, I have to stand behind my guy and predict a Bute victory, by KO!

Really hoping for Bute-Pavlik late 2010 or early 2011. After that, if Bute is still undefeated, he will have the choice between Dawson or the Super 6 winner.

Please that post was foolishness. He speaks of Johnson as if he was some bum. even at his age along with Tarver they would still beat 8 or 9 of the fighters in the top 10. And Im almost 100% sure that Bute would have lost to one if not both at the same stage that Dawson fought them. Bute has one of if not the weakest resumes of any elite champion. Judging from wins over Andrade who was dominated and mad to look like an amatuer vs Kessler. Who eles has he beatten??? JOPPY??? Get out of here with that grabage.

In what would be a very fun fight, Chad by clear, somewhat close UD.

    I'm thinking 7-5, or a tight 8-4.

He's just a bit better than Bute in almost every way. Bit bigger, bit better, bit stronger, bit faster, bit better rounded, and he's beaten the better opposition.

Best guy's Bute has beaten, Berrio and Andrade, are inferior to Tarver, Adamek, and Johnson.

Bute is a tougher fight than Pascal,I think, but Chad beats him right now.

Dawson would win at 175. That is his best weight class and he should not move up. Just as Bute has no business moving up either.

So, if we don't think the same way as you do, we bring garbage?

You should read the posts before replying to them. He didn't speak of Johnson as if he was a bum. He just said Bute gave Johnson hell in sparring.

You hate Bute so much that you put Joppy as his second best win. I can do stuff like that. Dawson has a glass jaw because he went down against Adamek. Glass jaw, glass jaw, glass jaw. See?

I don't analyze (that's a big word for me, I concede that) a fight just in reading resumes. I try to find who is the better boxer. The resume is only one part of it. So, even if Dawson has a better resume (and that's debatable, fighting people way over their prime is not having a so good resume), I can think Bute would win. That's my right. I can be wrong too. That happens to every poster here, including yourself.

The fact that you think that the resumes can be debated shows that you arent looking at this situation objectively. Its not even close, Dawson has a better resume by a long ways.

Its grabage because he claimed that beatting Johnson Adamek and Tarver was equal or less then the guys that Bute has fought, which any none Bute nuthugger would laugh you out of the room for saying.

Its also grabage to say that Dawson has a glass jaw because Adamek knocked him down since Adamek has gone on to knock out both cruiserweights and heavyweights. Not to mention that Bute was actaully knockedout by Andrade in their first fight, would you say that he was glass jawed???

I have no problem with someone saying that Bute can or would beat Dawson, everyone has a right to thier opinions. However to say he will beat him because Dawson hasnt faced any good fighters is crazy, when the truth is, and its not debatable, Dawson has faced far better fighters then Bute.:good

Resumes are debatable. Everyone on ESB debates on resumes. Do you think a victory on Johnson last year equals a victory on Johnson 5 years ago? Do you think a weightdrained Adamek is as good as Adamek today? Tarver and Johnson are shot, want it or not. Don't live in the past man. Tarver and Johnson WERE excellent opponents, they are not anymore.

You still haven't answered the question on Johnson having problems in sparring against Bute. Is that because it would diminish your theory on Dawson's resume?

That being said, I don't say Bute's resume is better than Dawson's one. I just think Dawson's resume is not strong enough to call it a sure win on itself.

Who cares about he said she said bull****. Lacy was said to dominate Taylor in sparring going back to the amateur days, but when they fought in the ring what happened???

And old Tarver, and Johnson is still miles ahead of everyone that Bute has fought. Tarver and Johnson could beat tomorrow EVERYONE that Bute has fought.

I think there is a very good chance that Johnson will in fact win a title in his next fight. Which of the fighters did bute beat will win a title??? Adamek weight drained or not went on to win more belts, once again what fighter did Bute beat won a title.
