Chad Dawson vs Mikkel Kessler @ 168lbs

Whether it's Denmark, Germany, Botswania lol or ****ing Chetchnia it dont matter. What matters is boxing skills and ability and I think Chad is a much better boxer than Kessler, Kessler has a good jab and works everything off that but as far as other assets, I dont see none buddy. I think Chad would hurt him and dishearten him and the speed would cause Kessler problems and would make him go into a defensive posture. He did this somewhat against Calzaghe when Calzaghe turned up the heat on his ass.

lol we dont have to hope no more that is the only difference lol. The white hope comment is just a known term used in boxing. Tommy Morrison, Gerry Cooney, Tye Fields, Henry Cooper, I could go on for days but you get my point lol...The way I hear people talk about Kessler is as if he is some king, his only defining fight has been against Calzaghe and he lost that fight narrowly in my opinion. Kessler is a good boxer but he is not a great boxer. He has skills but I think he will be out gunned against a Dawson stylistic match up.

 

lol Dawson is no Taylor, Damn even Jean Pascal is better than Taylor. Taylor is an 8 round fighter at best. I predicted Froch to starch him after 10 rounds so this fight was pretty easy to assess considering the styles. Having said that, Taylor was probably winning the fight but I think the 106-102 was a bit wide, I think it was closer than that personally at the time of the stoppage. Taylor's shots just looked more energetic and fast and created an illusion of him actually doing something in there but all that wild swinging caught up wiv him after the 6th or 7th round

 

Kessler by close UD.

 

It is not clear that Dawson could make 168. In any case Kessler could easily beat him at 175. If an sick old men like Tarver and Johnson can hit Dawson so easily and frequently, a hungry young champion will hit him too. The difference is Kessler will finish the job.

 

Kessler is so overrated.

I'd favour Dawson to win a decision on speed, southpaw stance, taller and longer reach. All huge factors.

I think Kessler would always be in the fight if he can manage to time right hands, something which is very adept at. Glen Johnson hurt him, old Tarver managed to get to him, why not? There is nothing that says Dawson is a defensive master or extremely durable. There is always that proviso.

 

I see the biggest punch in this fight being the right hook to the body from Dawson. He has a really good one and Kessler has shown time and again that he's vulnerable to it.

Its a close fight. Dawson is used to fighting bigger guys so I think he could handle Kessler's power and Kessler is a strong fighter so he can handle Dawson's. Handspeed is quite even, power even... Stamina to Kessler, reach to Dawson. Kessler is probably more accurate with his punches.

Its definately a good, competitive fight. My pick Dawson by 1 or 2 points. Kessler winning definately wouldn't be a surprise.

 

Dawson would take Whossler to school. Dawson UD and wide.

 

Kessler has more power and Dawson ...............damn for sure has better hand speed and combination punching. You dont see anybody else landing 4-5 punch combos on any version of Tarver..lol not even the dried up version Bhop fought.

 

I just don't think the fight would happen at 168. Dawson is established at 175 and Kessler would have to move up. It would be a very interesting contest imo and quite close. But I give Dawson the edge.

 

those 4-5 punch combos, only 1 or 2 were landing. Kessler can throw a 5 punch combo in the blink of an eye too. Kessler's handspeed is underrated. Check out his KO of Haussler (a nobody i know but still a sick combination). And the reason I said power is a tossup is cause Chad is a LHW while Kessler is a SMW
